Alyssa R George is a (former) science student who loves to write fantasy, particularly high fantasy (elves! woo!), and occasionally ventures into bad poetry ... best not to mention the drawings, really. |

| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 12 Feb 2003 | Cassandra Burr | Yay! First comment!! *jigs around* Thanks so much for commenting on my gallery. I love your stuff. Don't worry about anatomy, do like I do in sketches.....*drum-roll* Tentacles!! Who cares if they don't have limbs...they don't need limbs! Heh heh...anyway. Love your stuff, keep it up! ^_^ Alyssa R George replies: "Tentacles! Of course! It's brilliant! Thanks a lot for your comment - I promise to share half the proceeds from sales of elven octopi with you! ;D" | |
| 2 Jun 2003 | Alyssa | Hi Alyssa how are you I was quite interested in you not only for the fact you are an incredible person but also because my name is Alyssa R George as well im sure the R doesn't stand for the same thing as yours does but I still find that quite interesting, please email me at sweet_n_sexy_6969_6@hotmail.com , maybe we have a few things in common as well. thank you for your time Alyssa Alyssa R George replies: "This is funny, but you're actually the second Alyssa R George who's mailed me! I go twenty years without even hearing about more than one person with the same -first- name as me, and now ... somehow I feel less special ...
Nice to hear from you - congratulations on a fabulous name. O And thanks for stopping by my gallery!"
| 30 Jun 2003 | KI 'Shoe' Skogen Johnson | OK, first of all, thank you SO much for your wonderful and kind comment? You know, They're exectly the kind every artiist loves to get...totally brightened my day (and it needed it). I ansered it fully in an e-mail. But I must say, looking at your art, that although you're right in assu, ming that your writing talent exceeds your drawing ability (anfd you must know I think you're a brilliant writer, and self-knowlege about ones sk98lls is a rare and admirable thing) you're really not that bad. I'd say bretter than modst at least, and how many can say that? In fact, I think you have a lot of potential, so if you're willing to take my advice at all (and I'm not saying you have to) I say keep drawing! You can only get better, and you're pretty decent already. Alyssa R George replies: "It was my pleasure to visit your gallery! You're an amazing artist. You shouldn't let anyone tell you otherwise.
And I'm very grateful that you don't think I'm a -completely- lost cause! I'd love to take drawing classes one day, or sit myself down with some tutorials and scribble for a bit, but I think my discipline is a bit lacking. And it bruises my big ego to keep drawing heinous abominations in the quest to get better. I want to be an artist now! ;D"
| 20 Jul 2003 | Anne 'TK' Brand | Heh! You'll get better as long as you keep that I wanna be a better artist _now_ mind frame, That's how I was for 4 years... and really, that's how I am now. As for Tutorials, you can follow those if you want to, but I say, develope on you own, that's how great artists are built. (then again, you could always check out elfwood's new section, FARP) And for advice. For anatomy, try looking around elfwood at other people's pictures, there's a lot to look at for references.... Wow... this is one loooooong comment, eh?? But, yes! Adorable gallery and update soon. Alyssa R George replies: "I always wondered what FARP actually was, but never got around to finding out! ;D
Thanks so much for all the tips and encouragement! I love long comments! Staring at other people's pictures for anatomy is a particularly good idea until I get one of those wooden puppet-model thingies ... and some talent ..."
| 1 Aug 2003 | Alyssa ~Papilia~ Whitney | Hold on, we both also live in utah.. I'm so frightened 0_0 j/k i like strange coincidences. But-- i have short, light brown hair. so.. it's all good. Alyssa R George replies: "Whew. Different hair. And actually, the one who lives in Utah is my friend Sarah, not me. (I live in Japan at the moment. And was born in Australia. And have never seen Utah.) Still - kind of weird!" | |
| 1 Aug 2003 | Alyssa ~Papilia~ Whitney | Aww! I like to write, draw, and compose music too! But am master at none. I also give the thumbs up to people many a times. This is starting to get creepy >.>; i dont' have the patience right now to read anything (it's too late at night ~_~) but i'll definately be going through your library when i'm in better health because i hear it's really super good. And don't worry too much about the quality of your drawing right now, if you are in fact displeased with it, just think about how it'll look when you really get good and start drawing like that. It might be a while before you get the hang of it but then all of a sudden you'll be the great artist you imagined yourself to be! ^_^ Alyssa R George replies: "Okay. My tally of Other Alyssas has gone up to seven. I just don't feel special any more. ;D
As for my art ... urm ... it's been a good ten years since I decided I wanted to get good at art, and so far - nuffin'. Oh, well. At least I'm having fun doing it.
Thanks a lot for visiting! Lovely to hear from a fellow Alyssa. You've made my evening. And who told you my library was good? Geez, has my mother started emailing strangers -again-?"
| 26 Sep 2003 | Crystal Huang | Pretty art... and nice sketches and style. =) You're a writer as well? Wahoo. I'm at school now, heckishly bored in an extremely uninteresting web design lesson (frontpage! *puke*) so I'll check out your writings when I get home... In the meantime, keep up with the talent! Alyssa R George replies: "Aaargh! I studied web design as well - two years of it! I feel your pain! XP
And thanks very much for your comment, though since I have eyes, no-one is ever going to convince me that these pictures don't stink. ;D My writing is a little less blaaah than my drawing, so please do visit!"
| 8 Oct 2003 | Teresa Michelle Otero | Whoa! Awesome art work here!! I love your style! very beatiful! Alyssa R George replies: "Hmm ... it needs a lot of work before I get a recognisable 'style', I think (or the opportunity to call it 'art'), but thanks for visiting and leaving that lovely comment!" | |
| 14 Oct 2003 | Anon. | Nice little gallery here I actually came over from your library, hoping to find some maps. I've been reading 'Soulfire Seeking', and while I'm enjoying to story a lot, I'm a little lost on it's geography. Btw, I'm an Aussie too Alyssa R George replies: "Wooot! Aussies rule!
About the maps ... urm, well, I do have some, but they're nasty pencil sketches that I would never show anyone, and they're also in a different country at the moment. Well and good. ;D Thanks a lot for visiting - I'll try to make my geographical explanations a bit clearer!"
| 16 Jul 2005 | B. Layne Weaver | *hops in* Hello, m'dear! I'm just swinging by to return your lovely visit ^_^ I'm a much better commenter when it comes to writing rather than art, so don't expect anything other than "oh, isn't that cute!" or "how lovely!"
