A.R. is no longer updating here - a HUGE thank-you to all gorgeous readers and commenters over the last seven years! Please see my profile page for contact details.

~~ ATTENTION ALL COMMENTERS: Please note that I am no longer active at my Elfy address ~~

Alas, I have moved on. Elfwood is a great community (and I personally love the look of the redesign!), but the comment system just doesn't support the extended dialogue that I require as a writer when reviewing people's stories or answering my own reviews.

Okay, okay - 'extended dialogue', 'lengthy spam', what's the difference? I just have a lot to say, all right?!

I've already been inactive for about a year (and just noticed a pile of lovely comments banked up here - thank you SO MUCH to all of you, I'll be slo~wly answering each and every one before I go!), so this is more of a formality than anything else.

Anyway, to cut a long story short - because I do that ALL the time ;D - thank you for all the support, stimulating criticism, kamikaze smurfs and custard floods over the last seven years. My glacial response times may not always suggest it, but I treasure each and every comment and the time taken to give it, and you are all responsible for a piece of the writer I am today.

Live with the consequences. ;)

Where to Find Other Stuff to Read

Quick FAQ

Is Soulfire Seeking dead? - No, but it has changed A LOT.

Is Dragonmakers dead? No, this will be my 'sanity project' when I start getting decent free time and space to write again.

Where can I find more Acarthians? - Behind you, or raiding the jam jar. Also inhabiting a three-quarters-finished story, 'Of Rocks and Redundant Letters', which you may or may not recall seeing here in ... oh, 2005?

Can you tell me what you think of my story? - I don't have much time to myself these days, but I'm still happy to read people's shorter works if you're prepared for a bit of a wait - email me the page address (don't comment here, I won't see it!) and I'll drop you a line whenever I can.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! <3

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there. :) I'm an A-year-old Australian (let X = current year; let A = current age; A = X - 1981) who writes lots of things and takes a really long time to finish them. Favourite topics include elves, potato dragons, other elves, fae, other other elves, ghosts, other other other elves, unstable herbal shelves and feline-phobic elves.

Sorry, I don't do vampires unless they have Ys. [original bio line, appreciating in value]

I have many inspirations, but please don't blame them. Family and friends give me a lot of weirdness to work with, past and present. My sister makes up characters and lets me pretend I'm great. Elfwood/LJ friends point out my idiocies in the kindest ways possible and are responsible for all the readable bits.

As for authors, I worship JRR Tolkien's scope, David Eddings' characters (the early ones, before they tripped and fell into the clone machine) and the insanity/morality of Terry Pratchett.

Um...well, I’ll be honest I more follow European rugby becuase it doesn’t require that I get up at 3am to watch games, so I’m not really sure which team is blue and gold.

If you mean the Aussie national team...then I’d have to disappoint you. In international competitions I root first for the U.S., and when they inevitably lose I usually go for ireland or scotland, due to family heritage.

I can say I’ll root for austrailia on two occasions: when they play england and when the play france.

Though if you meant "a blue and gold team" and not "THE blue and gold team" the university club I play for (usually hooker / flanker on rare occasion) has colors maize and blue...and maize is a kind of yellow. Close enough for me, anyways.

my brain, imaginative as it is, fails utterly to conceive what a boring Liss would be like.
yay for life’s chocolaty bits!
I am ok. busy as all getout and trying to figure out how to finance my last semester of graduate school. I am training to be a librarian, of all things ^_~ I like it, but I am ready to be home and have a job.
