| poem story about an Angel Muse |
|
Part I
Seven- Torn wings in heaven
I dreamed a dream when I was seven
I flew right up and entered heaven
I walked around in search of god
But all was silent, cold and odd
I met a boy when I was seven
Trying to make it home from heaven
Outside the gates he just appeared
His hands were stained, his clothes were seared
He told me he was only seven
He had been born and raised in heaven
But now he had to leave that place
To find a home in earth or space
He turned around so I could see
A bloodied stain where wings might be
Where war had torn them from his back
When God had painted heaven black
I dreamed this dream when I was seven
My mother brought me home from heaven
She woke me gently from my dream
And told me she had heard me scream
Part II
Seventeen-Muse in my Heart
I’ve been writing since I was seven
I think I met my muse in heaven
He’s been living here inside my heart
Since heaven tore his wings apart
He searched on land, and scoured the sea
For a place to live in harmony
He spent a time in outer space
But said he missed the human race
I offered him the quill of life
And wrote a tale about his strife
His hidden haven in my soul
Without it I could not be whole
I dreamed a dream when I was seven
And stole an angel boy from heaven
Your muse will find you when you dream
No matter how far heaven seems
