| 14 Nov 2004 | Mark DeFord | Loading...No disrespect intended to Mr. Boer, actually I've more respect for him as an artist than I have for any other at Elfwood, but the more I look at, and admire, this picture, the greater surety I have that the axe-wielding barbarian's forearms seem just slightly puny and undefined when compared to his upper arms, especially when one consideres his choice of weapon. But, then, I'm not an artist and shouldn't be considered an authority. I just wondered at the fact that people made such a stink about the peasant girl's feet, which looked fine to me, and nobody said a word about this guy. | |

| 31 Jan 2007 | Scarlet <meandmypink | Loading...And what a sexy grin it is, too! His forearms do look a tad...underdeveloped? But I'm sure he'll get them in shape in no time with that serious slab of metal he's got across his shoulders! Other than that, the proportions are fabulous, the shading is very defining - all in all it looks like one of those tattoos that some artists will draw from a photograph. Congratulations on MOD's choice - you deserve it! | |
| 25 Mar 2007 | Itami | Loading...Dee, just go away. Who cares about the content of the picture? You need only look at the effort, technique, and skill used, all of which are apparent in this remarkable drawing.
(Also, Dee, it's cliché, not cliche'. Put the time into learning the alt key code or don't use the word.)
Anyways, I'm done with that rant. Very nice lines, they flow nicely, and the shading on the muscles is better than anything I've seen in a long time! I absolutely love his grin; it reminds me of Gatts from Berserk.
I agree though the forearms look a bit small in proportion to the biceps, and the hands look a little awkward to me (maybe it's just because I don't see that pose often, though).
Either way, splendid job! | |
