But however stunning i thnk that the armor is, i cant get over the fact that te concept of "githyanki" is awfull. Why would such a race have japan-inspired armor/weapons? Doesn't make any sense. But i guess your not the one to blame Lieuwe Boer replies: "Actually I didn't look to Japan for this githyanki (except for the handle of the blade he's holding, which is inspired by the nagamaki), instead most of the stuff he's wearing was inspired by continental Asia. The githzerai on my other drawings are wearing Japanese stuff, but as a race they are quite different from the githyanki, in a way that I think fits nicely with old Japan."

If you do this in colour, adds some gems to the armour, and not just the usual diamonds, rubies, and sapphires, but stuff like nephrite, sardonyx, carnelian, and other multicoloured stones.
The sword is interesting, but I think it needs a serrated flamberge style blade to make it more githy. And again, it needs to be lavish, with gems on the pommel and guard and multicoloured wrappings on the haft, not the somber black used on most Oriental weapons.
