The shading in the background works really well for the pose and the movement. Great job! Liliane Grenier replies: "Thank you! As you can see, I'm pretty lazy about backgrounds, but it works sometimes. "

I grow sad sometimes when it seems that only coloured pictures get noticed in Elfwood (well, I think they catch the eye easier in the small thumb-nails). I've seen so many comments along the lines of "This is so great, you should colour it" in everyone's galleries. Sometimes the picture doesn't even need colours. You are marvelous with anatomy, and make the best out of your pencils. Liliane Grenier replies: "Thank you so much! I also prefer pencil sketches, they look much more natural and spirited then say, computer colored pictures (no offence to anyone, they can be stunning too, but they just don't have the same feeling.)So most of the time, I will click on pencil-looking thumbnail more then colors, unless it looks like painting. The movement is nice, the shading is awesome, the lovely down cast eyes is an expression I've tried to capture once or twice but never as well done as you've done here. Very nice piece. one of my favorites Liliane Grenier replies: "Thank you so much! I do have trouble with hands, that why I keep a little scrapbook in wich I put every cool hands that a see in magasines. That way, I just have to pick one and copy it.lol"
| 6 Nov 2004 | Anne Marie Filiatreault | Loading...Ohh, a lovely flowing piece here. The movement is displayed nicely in the folds of the clothing, andcombined with the shading, makes it stand out more than the coloured piece IMO. Her hair is also really well done. What paper do you use when drawing? Liliane Grenier replies: "Thank you...hum...wow, I don't remember what paper I used for this one. But I do use cheap one, maybe a cheap water-color paper for this, I will have to find to original to be sure." | |

| 14 Jun 2008 | Juhi dhar | Loading...i totally agree this is better!!! I really like the raw and rough quality of it. The pencil strokes capture the quality of movement in it which does kinda get lost in the coloured one....... I cant wait to see more tolkien inspired pictures from u!!!! | |
