SciFi and Fantasy Art Star Cruiser by Michael James Liljenberg


	Replacing the old Princeton class battleships, these ships are more heavily armed, hyperspace capable, carry two sqadrons of starfighters, have powerful shields, and the powerful Quantum Cascade main gun. The shipyards on board the Galaxy Supership were just cranking out fleets of these ships when the Galaxy disappeared.

My little brother's great at that sort of thing, but I actually get motion sickness working with 3D programs."

Send a ship up underneath that thing Doesn't seem like there are many turrets underneath that sucker...Artistically though, stunningly awesome Michael James Liljenberg replies: "There are turrets pointing down at the front of the secondary hulls. But besides that, this big boy will have a fleet of escort ships in a 3D formation, and at the ranges these guys fight most combat will be by missile and fighter. Even though those main guns are capable of applying destructive force at millions of miles range, actually hitting an enemy starship manuvering at 50-70 G acceleration rates limits accuracy at distances over 2 light seconds (half a million kilometers). In other words, you aren't going to be able to get a ship "under" it and into range before it spots you. It only needs a 90 degree roll to bring a full broadside to bear. It's far more vulnerable to the rear."

Reply to the artists comment about where the crew should be bunked that was made about 2.6 years ago: Perhaps theres a small living quarters inside of the pillbox turrets they're stationed in. Or maybe not necessarily the turrets but a little ways into the ship. I kind of like ships where you have to guess where the crew quarters and the bridge are located. Makes the creative juices stew.
29 Nov 2006	Anonymous	Loading... IF you're looking for a place to bunk a crew and possibly a boarding staff and fighter pilots, may I suggest placing the somewhere in the pontoon hulls? Great anyway, it looks kinda like a mechanised vulture on steroids XP
