  | Link set off for Lon Lon Ranch, there is could finally get a good nights sleep and his trusty horse Epona too could get some well deserved rest. he rode out across Hyrule field ready for the attack of the usual monsters such as textiles wolfose and poes, he notched his arrow and aimed for some comming twords them, Epona moving accordinly, they seem to work as one living creature in battle. Link took out 3 and was aiming to take out the rest when Epona lurched and screamed in pain. Link had felt a blunt and powerful impact, none like he had ever felt before. Epona bolted at this impact, she spun and reared throwing the already shocked Link into the grass and bramble bushes. Link came-to quickly he was somewhat hurt but he forgot all about his ailments-- as the sight of Epona motionless on the ground sent him into a panic. the sound of Links voice caused Epona to stir, she roled over as if to get up and lifted her head but heaved back onto her side with a nikker of pain before she had even managed to get one foot on the ground. Link stumbled over to her was instantly at her side. he was completly distraught, Epona had never fallen before, he was invulnerable atop her and here she was unable to stand. Epona was breathing heavily, she had to get up, they were under attack, and even if there was no oncoming danger a horse can die if they stay on their sides, their lungs crushed by their own weight and Link realized this with great pain. he urged her to get up, even Navi the fairy tugged at her main, but Epona would not rise. Link with tears running down his face in fear of his friend rose to his feet and drew his sword ready to face the oncoming foes, he will not let them have her.
