Here's the anticipated part 2 of the story. Last edited on 12/06/99. Totally done. The most are editorials to mistakes. Don't tell me this story is displaced.. it was meant to be so.

The Doomed Knight, Part 2

The Heroes of the Hidden Realm

I am Nelstar Xyrulgile, once bestowed the title of 'The Strongest Knight on Eor'. To them I may be the strongest, yet deep inside of me I knew I am never. I've been defeated and that will be accounted for as the proof to the reason why I am never. The worst part of all was my failure to uphold the knight's code.

Sword, what great use of sword can it be when encountering a mage? No.. it is definitely useless. I may be the greatest swordsman alive that can defeat an army in the battlefield but I can never defeat a few mages. Knight, what great use of a knight when he failed to save his king, not to say one who cannot stop himself from killing one! Promises, what can you promise when you don't know that if you can fulfill it and that promise was one that you made to someone you deeply loved!

Willn Cavori, who is Willn Cavori? A dead man? A traitor? Maybe what his enemy called him. An Avenger or a Doom Knight? No, he is a Doomed Knight, not a Doom Knight! He do not bring doom to his enemy. He brought it upon himself. Yes, he loved to revenge his kingdom, his king and his wife but how long is he going to take? Avenger? No.. I call that Opportunitist.

So who is Nelstar Xyrulgile anyway? Me? No... that's not my real name. I do not know who I am either. For I battled too long in the field. For I have grown too old. Maybe not in real terms of aging... but in my mind, psychologically and spiritually, I have aged. I do not remember my family, neither my real name. I just remember this: Willn Cavori is a Doomed Knight.

So who is my real enemy? Jace d' Alvarado? Maelstrom Franco? Sverg Castings? Palendar Acas? Frost Devan? Pericflame? The Fury? The Starek? The Merlayis? The Icy Blazers? Or was it the gods? No. None of them. My real enemy is myself, my weaknesses, my pride, my failure and my promises. So I actually should kill myself then?

No, she will never allow me. Who is she? My sister? My mother? No... I don't remember... it hurts too much to think of it. Then why is she torturing me? Disallowing me to kill myself. Isn't it pointless to continue living when you have no one to live for? She said she loved me but why did she die? Why did she commit suicide?

So what happened? I can't remember.. it hurts. Is there a release from this pain? My bone is aching and my hearts ripped when I sleep. My eyes swollen red to open to see. Images.. that night, that beautiful and sad night. It was so romantic yet so devastating. I don't remember laughing for 2 years.. in actual 20. It seemed so short yet so long.

I don't remember living that 18 years. Yet I still picture myself in it. I don't remember fighting those years. That person looks like me but he is not. He looks lifeless. Who is he? Willn Cavori? Nelstar Xyrulgile? No... he is just a sword, a weapon, a killing device for massacre. What is his name? I remember.. ah.. puppet of the magic.

Why do I have the legendary Stormblade? I don't remember killing Warner Dextus. Who is he anyway? An enemy? No, I still remember that he is a friend... I'm very tired... My scar is painful.. I shall sleep.. but the nightmares will keep haunting me.

"Have you ever fell in love before milord?" Cavennah Bowell asked.

"Right. Milord, have you ever fell in love?" Jen Marzun repeated the question.

"Yes, that was a long time ago. I can still remember that our feelings were mutual then."

"That means she also loved you?" Jen Marzun asked.

"Yes, she did, and I loved her too..."

Little was heard of Willn Cavori since his killing of the king. He was branded a traitor to the his kinsmen. Nevertheless, none had found any reason why he should pick to kill the king on the day he would become another. All they knew was that he had fled to the lands of the enemy, the ones called "The Fury" or the "Doecarian Empire".

Soon after the heir's escape and the death of the king, it took less than 3 months to see the entire Alinese Empire to fall apart. Different rumors rose from the death of Leister Alin and Willn's betrayal. The more dominant rumors are "Willn became a believer of the Doecarian belief" and "Willn Cavori was not the real Cavori". However there are other rumors that were spoken for him, "Willn has been controlled" and "Willn is infiltrating the ranks of the enemy".

Nonetheless, the truth had yet to be revealed and more treachery were fused. Willn's best friend, Fernaskiz murdered his own father, Salendo and attacked the King's advisor's forces. He failed and retreated to join the Doecarian Empire. Worse, the King's advisor and Tanisha were hunted by their kinsmen because of Willn's treachery. The dispute and the warring led to the fall of the glorious Alinese Empire.

Turgic Swalves, the King's advisor brought Tanisha and a small force and took control over a small coastal village while the remaining forces were trampled by Mersimdorn Empire and the Doecarian Empire. Turgic made a vow to kill Willn Cavori while Tanisha shivered in fear of a direct confrontation between the two.

Seeing that the person she loved joining the enemy forces, and the friend who was about to marry that person dead, Nasila Xilan joined the Doecarian Empire as a soldier. She seeked to discover the truth about Willn Cavori's betrayal. Meanwhile the plot continued to harass more and more people. Only one person was smiling.

That person smiled and had almost finished his preparation for the undead. The legion of the dead will soon bow to that person's power and flanked his enemies. Sitting there, he awaited another decade to come when the spell will be done. All he wanted was purely destruction, yet never did he wanted it himself. It was just another side of him.

"Lord Xyrulgile, we discovered intruders and were able to capture the entire party. Shall I sentence them to death?" Delt Barei asked.

"Where do they fare from?"

"They fared from the Alinese Empire. The leader, recognised as Turgic Swalves. Should I bring him to see you milord?" Delt Barei questioned.

"No, imprisoned all the captives and put them under observation. I shall deal with them later."

Nelstar walked down from his room and touched his pendant. His lips were soft and he was silent. Solemnly he felt the pain from the pendant and the love it was once bestowed with. He was so engrossed with it that he did not notice the knock on his door. The door slid open and Jen Marzun entered.

"Milord," she called out.

"Yes?" he was not looking at her.

"The captives wished an audience with you. They pleaded for freedom. I think they are innocent. They were hoping a nice answer from you," Jen Marzun reported.

"They shall not have their freedom!" Nelstar shouted in anger, "leave me."

"Yes milord," Jen Marzun said as she left with the feeling that the lord was not his usual self.

"Lord Xyrulgile has allowed us to leave?" Tanisha Cavori asked the warrior opening the door.

"No, I allowed. His excellency is not himself recently after seeing your confiscated flute. He even shouted at Sir Barei. I guess you all better move fast before he discover that I let you all escape," Cavennah Bowell told them.

"I got to get back that flute!" Tanisha claimed.

"You still thinking of your brother? Tanisha, your brother is dead. That's what everyone says. Even if he is alive he is still a beast. Don't bother about it, we have our own things to do," Turgic Swalves reminded her.

"But, I, well.. it..." Tanisha stammered when she saw Delt Barei.

"Since you have done it, Cavennah, make sure you lead them out of Xyrulgile," Delt Barei paused, "I guess Lord Xyrulgile will not be quite pleased with us eventually but he won't do anything."

"Thanks. Follow me," Cavennah Bowell told the group.

Cavennah led the group out of the forest until he saw Lordeon. "Hey! Move out of the way, Lordeon and don't you point that sword at us."

"Is that the way you talk to someone with a higher title than you, Cavennah?" Lordeon inquired.

"Ha, you better..." Cavennah Bowell and Lordeon saw another group of warriors. A group who came to war.

"This is the land of Icy Blazers. State your business here," Lordeon warned.

"A Wyxie with a sword. Karlimax, I guess our adversary does not know what is called 'danger'."

Cavennah Bowell unsheathed his sword and stood beside Lordeon. They stared at the enemy and glared at Tanisha Cavori and Turgic Swalves. Fernaskiz Rubello stood out and shouted, "I just want the heads of these two and their little group and there we can have our peace with Xyrulgile, or what you called Icy Blazers."

"The captives are ours and we have our right to our captives, Fernaskiz!" Delt Barei rode his hell steed and commanded his group of archers. "Well, well, the betrayer has the audacity to claim what is theirs. Perhaps I might include your head as one of those that should row. Maybe you'll still want to call me Warlord, or milord or what so ever to save your skin."

Hugo Oris, Kazan Oris, Jen Marzun and Akri-Tef the troll, each led a small force surrounding Fernaskiz and the mysterious group. "I call that fish in the net," Hugo Oris shouted and the rest simply laughed. Quin Garil immediately arrived and joined in the laugh, "Fancy picking a fight in our homeground, fools."

"Do no underestimate them!" Delt Barei shouted. The laughter ended in a deep silence. "Leave, Jace, leave to where you hail from." Jace d' Alvarado stood out and yelled, "Anyone want or dare to fight me?" Lordeon stood out and replied, "I'll take your challenge."

The two clashed their swords together and embraced each other in a deadly weapon combat. Lordeon's move were swift to evade Jace's attacks but not swift enough to return him any blows. Jace gained the upperhand and thrust the sword at Lordeon's skull. However, Jace missed. Lordeon had successfully cast "Harliko's move" and teleported away from danger.

Jace d' Alvarado spoke out, "Not bad for a Wyxie. This time I'm playing real."

"Maybe with me?" Nelstar Xyrulgile unsheathed the legendary Stormblade.

"Brother?" Tanisha Cavori shouted in shock.

"Ha, Willn Cavori.. you are indeed not dead. As expected, his excellency had guessed correctly and even gave you a suitable name, 'The Avenger'. Looks like you have your own army for the battle."

"Oh right, I guess you are wondering if I can kill you all today? I suppose my reply will be yes, Jace. Try sticking up your sword and wait for me to deliver you to the hands of the dead."

Willn Cavori lowered the legendary Stormblade down and waited for Jace d' Alvarado to advance. Meanwhile, Quin Garil and Akri-Tef surrounded Talesmirk, Karlimax Eldamo faced Lordeon and Fernaskiz was confronted by Delt Barei. The rest, Hugo Oris, Kazan Oris, Jen Marzun, Cavennah Bowell and the arriving Lagrimore surrounded Belmore Organ and stood as reinforcements.

Jace d' Alvarado jumped and swinged his sword in the air. Willn ducked the blow and thrust his sword up at Jace's chin. Jace swinged his head back and backflipped away from Willn's blade. Willn twisted his body front and lashed his sword at Jace. Jace parried the blow with a kick and brought the sword down straight on Willn's head.

Meanwhile Quin Garil was fired at by the arrow from Talesmirk. He hurled the grappling hook at Talesmirk's right shoulder grazing him. However, the arrow hit Quin's left thigh. Talesmirk was struggling to pull off the claw-like hook when Akri-Tef's axe slashed and opened a deep wound on Talesmirk's back.

Karlimax Eldamo and Lordeon was at par as they fought, and they tended to avoid too much direct close combats that could be very deadly. On the other hand, Delt Barei and Fernaskiz were kicking one another as they clashed their blades together. Sverg Casting still remained calm watching the rest engaged in a wicked combat.
