These are what you might call concept art for the new world I'm creating.  These are the first models for my Dragons and Humans--Dragons especially.  Here they are depicted in battle attire: the female dragon on the far left wears lighter armor because, during combat, she flies over enemies and hurls the long, spea-like darts at specific targets and, when she gets down to one weapon left, she can either go back and collect more or begin fighting at close quarters; the male dragon at center left won't be flying since he is so heavily armored--you might say he's a member of the infantry, but he can also jump and glide for short distances, using the long blade to deliver penetrating jabs; the human couple, contraty to their wintry appearance, are fire elementals.

Elementals channel the power of nature's elements by uttering strings of the Dragons' language in resonant sound.  Dragons have two sets of vocal cords, so they are able to practice Elementry alone, but elementals of other races have to operate in pairs in order to produce the resonant sound.  The reason these two Fire elementals are dressed so warmly is that, during the course of the spell's casting, all nearby heat is drained, making the air very cold--and then, of course, the energy is re-directed and released in whatever form the spell commanded.

I was going to do a bit of a background... really I was!  But it just would have been rocks or something, and that doesn't make it very interesting.
Maybe I'll color it someday and add a background.  The female dragon is supposed to be standing on a rock, but it was drawn so light that it didn't show up well through the scanner, so I just let her stand on air.  :P  All done with a mechanical pencil.  I just used a computer program for touch-up.

I hope everybody likes it!  If you have suggestions for colors, I'd be happy to hear them.  Except the dragon's don't have scales, so no fancy colors there--they just have skin.  (novel thought, eh?)  :)

And, of course, any other comments you  have of any kind would be lovely.  I promise to return the favor!  ^_^

Nice work! My only concern is the positioning of the wings - their current location seems to not allow any muscular growth as they are. Other than that, well done!

2 Michael A Rasmussen replies: "The wings are connected to the body via a second set of shoulder sockets, so, obviously, their anatomy in that area is going to be different. I’d love suggestions, though! 1 I don’t know how it would stop muscle growth, but I do like to keep my creatures anatomically correct.

Thank you so much for commenting, John! ^_^"
