I’ll admit I do have a slight problem drawing people up close--something I’m working on. I do indeed plan to do some more dwarves! ^_^ I have some dragons and elves and humans, too, but I have to fix my scanner before I can put them up here."
| 23 Jun 2008 | Jermaine joseph | Loading...The cavern into the mountain side, and the rune careed door are really quite good. So are the trees. I’d like to know what exactly is inside the mountain, and why there are so many warriors. All in all it is an interesting picture with some intriguing attention to detail. Impressive, although some more shading wouldn’t go amiss, but then that’s just my opinion, you’re the artist. Michael A Rasmussen replies: "There’s not much shading because originally I wasn’t sure if I was going to color it or not--still not sure.
Well let’s see... I think what’s going on is that the dwarves were returning to their home anyway, and the human was in the wrong place at the wrong time, trespassing. He’s part of a group of humans who are not friendly with these dwarves, so they captured him and are probably going to interrogate the poor fellow--maybe even convert him into a spy. ^_^ Inside the mountain is, possibly, a large cavern extending downward, with main roads that circle the walls of the cavern and several levels leading to different parts of the city.
Thank you so much for the detailed comment! I’d love to see some of your own work if you have any. =)"

Michael A Rasmussen replies: "Aww I’m so glad it captures your attention! xD Means a lot to me; thank you so much. ^_^"
| 12 Jul 2008 | Maggie Nelson | Loading...Oooo! I wanna ride on the chasm-spanning cable thingy! That looks fun. I like the trees. And the door reminds me of the door to Moria from LOTR. Michael A Rasmussen replies: "You’d have to be VERY good at monkey-bars, and you would have to have absolutely no fear of heights, ’cause the soft playground dirt is way too far down to cushion your fall properly. ^_^
I’m glad you think the door looks kind-of like Moria. xD I love LOTR! Thank you so much for the comment."
| 13 Jul 2008 | Paula Friederike Dieck | Loading...This is quite cool! I’d love to see it coloured, but it’s nice the way it is, as well. Just LOVE that chasm-wire-thingie, it’s a really near idea! Keep going! Michael A Rasmussen replies: "Yeah, I’m not sure what they’re made of. I suppose it could be rope, but now that some of you are mentioning "cable" and "wire," I suppose that might work, too. Yay for commentors! xD
I thought of the ropewirecablethingy in the first place because I wanted a way that pretty much only dwarves would dare use to get across to their city. And if other people do use it, it’s the only entrance and can be easily guarded and/or sabotaged. (of course, it works both ways, too.)
Thank you for the comment, Paula! ^_^"
| 26 Aug 2008 | Tobyana Oby Emakamo | Loading...You have a very interesting style for the landscape that I realy realy like. And this has nice detail too. I would love to see this colored. Michael A Rasmussen replies: "Thank you so much, Evallynne! I may just color it someday. It’s just that it seems such a daunting prospect. We’ll just have to see. A lot of people are clamoring for me to color this, so I probably won’t be able to hold out forever. xD" | |
