This picture started with a line for the flower stem, then just grew from there.  The actual flower went through a lot of evolution, and I really like how it turned out.

Of course, the focus is the cute little fairy standing next to a flower that is to her what a small tree would be for a human.  To her, a garden is a forest of flowers.
I'm very pleased with how she turned out.

The funny thing with this picture, it started as just a casual project on a very young friend's paper book--the kind of stuff for little kids that's more for scribbling (or, as I like to say, "abstract"  xD) than it is for art.  Hence the wrinkles in the paper.  So if I could change anything about this picture it would be the material it was made.  But hey, what can you do.  And on the other hand the wrikliness sort-of makes me feel like it's something I did when I was small.  :D

I'd be very happy to hear everyone's opinions for my little flower fairy.
And, as a bonus activity, see if you can guess what her dress is made of.  ^_^

Nice coloring. She is wearing a hollowed out tree branch for a dress. Sadly, the paper does take away from her.

:-) Michael A Rasmussen replies: "Yay, finally a comment! xD I’m glad you like the coloring, and yes, I know about the paper. It’s sad, but there’s not much I can do about it unless I want to spend hours in a computer trying to refine everything. I’ll just have to remember to do all my doodles on regular paper from now on! lol

As to what she is wearing, I’m afraid you’re incorrect. ^_^ You can guess again, if you like. Think smaller; remember she’s smaller than a flower."

hmmmmm... her dress kinda reminds me of coconut skin. random.

:-) Michael A Rasmussen replies: "Well, a couple people have taken stabs at guessing what her dress is made of, so I’ll go ahead and say now. The answer is: caterpillar hairs. ^_^

Coconut skin was actually a pretty good guess, though. Go you! 12"

You know, I think the paper adds to it in some way - makes it a little misty. I don’t know if you like that, but I do, strangely. 2

:-) Michael A Rasmussen replies: "Whoa, now that you mention it, you’re right! THANK YOU!!! xD I needed an excuse, and you’ve given me the perfect one! Yaaay! ^_^

Thanks for the lovely comment. =D"

nice ans simple- what more do you need?

:-) Michael A Rasmussen replies: "Why thank you, Paulien! xD You’re quite right; sometimes simplicity is better then complexity. I just have to remember that it goes both ways. =P"
