This is one of the first pictures I drew for a world I'm making together with my sister.  It's not the same one that I'm making on my own.  This is a world of anthropomorphics, but the trick we do is to make the faces more-or-less human-like, instead of the traditional animal heads.

There are twenty-one races in Taroth, and their earth-like counterparts don't exist.  All other animals exist normally, except these twenty-one, which are anthropomorphic.
Long ago, the Snakes, Tigers, Wolves, Panthers, Lizards, Elks, Salamanders, Badgers, Vultures, and Hawks, embraced the Dark Magic that had been discovered, and swelled in power.  But, just as the others had predicted, they became corrupt--more animal-like, more aggressive and destructive.  The other ten races, the Dragons, Eagles, Lions, Deers, Swans, Cheetahs, Bears, Foxes, Frogs, and Chameleons, were eventually invaded, conquered and subjugated.  The Dark races put a great curse upon them and left them empty and powerless.  (We Earthlings would call them "Humans." xD)

During this time, the Unicorns stayed out of it all and kept hidden.  They didn't even try to find out how it ended.
But one day, one of the rare humans who had escaped found them and told all.  Then the Unicorns finally chose a side.
With their healing and restorative powers, they began to mount a resistance.

And that, of course, is where the story comes in.  Except we haven't started it yet.  lol

Anyway, the character you see here is Yris, the Queen of the Unicorns.
I tried to make her delicate yet noble and with a lot of inner strength.  She has to bear most of the weight of the responisbility for the cause.

And yes, the top of her staff is made of the horns of the royal line, which are full of strong power.

done wtih a mechanical pencil, and touched up in my computer.
the big letters say "Yris," but the runes on the staff are just random shapes.
