SciFi and Fantasy Art ´Let me out!´ A captive mermaid by Lisa ´Scarecrow´ Ferreira

I read a novel awhile ago called 'Noah' by Ellen Gunderson Traylor which was about Atlantis, and the human-animal hybrids that were being made there, and there was a scene like this, even though I didn't intend it this way. It started out as just a mermaid, but my mom said it looked like she was in a tank, begging to be let out, so I modified it a little. And you shouldn't be able to see her tears underwater, but I figure you must be able to see something when a mermaid cries, or else how would you know?

I am stunned at the quality and composition of this particular piece. everytime I see the emotion captured on her face I want to cry; the lighting plays well into the piece's natural feeling. Excellent and usual idea with the tears being seen underwater and beautiful use of highlights. When can we expect to buy the poster version?!?
