And at the last from inner Egypt came
The strange dark One to whom the fellahs bowed;
Silent and lean and cryptically proud,
And wrapped in fabrics red as sunset flame.
Throngs pressed around, frantic for his commands,
But leaving, could not tell what they had heard;
While through the nations spread the awestruck word
That wild beasts followed him and licked his hands.

Soon from the sea a noxious birth began;
Forgotten lands with weedy spires of gold;
The ground was cleft, and mad auroras rolled
Down on the quaking citadels of man.
Then, crushing what he chanced to mould in play,
The idiot Chaos blew Earth's dust away.

Another Lovecraft themed picture. This is going to be part of the big colossal montage I've got going, which is going to include most of the Old Ones mentioned in Lovecraft's Cthulhu cycle, Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Dagon, Shub-Niggurath, Yog-Sothoth, and Azathoth. Anybody I missed?

23 Jan 2005	Sylv	Loading... Nice. I like the mystery you've added to him since he's usually portrayed as either a sinister looking human or an ungodly beast. The obscured face adds a real touch of mystery and dread, and the colors are nice and rich. Well done. An addendum to Drakewind's comment, Hastur has been picked up by enough writers to sort of be considered part of the Lovecraftian "canon" as it were so I'd include him in any montage. (Then again, I haven't checked out the rest of your gallery. Maybe the montage is done by now!)

31 May 2006	Darwin	Loading... Hello, I just found this in a random search for Nyarlathotep. It's absolutely beautiful. I have one question though, about the symbols and hieroglyphics he's displaying. Are they aesthetic only, or do they have real meaning, and if so what? This is specifically about the one on the brow of his headdress. I've been trying to find a rune, or hieroglyph or symbol that represents Nyarlathotep, and get a tattoo of it. Please email me. Again, this is absolutely beautiful... I made it my desktop (I'll give you full credit if anyone asks about it, and if it's a problem I'll take it down) Dream Well, Darwin
13 Jun 2006	Anonymous	Loading... One that's missing according to the necronomicon, written by donald tyson, is yig. He's the one with the snakes. Though im unsure about one thing, and thats if he was written about by lovecraft, or someone using the cthulhu mythos in their stories. In any case, thats it. Oh ,and the picture is pretty cool
