Another Lovecraft picture! If you know nothing about Lovecraft, the rest of this won't make sense.
Partially inspired by the movie Dagon and partially by the song 'The Innsmouth Look' by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. The band's great and the movie's not as bad as the reviews say. Although I don't think it had a real 'Lovecraftian' flavor, at least it stayed pretty true to the story.
Anyway, this was originally meant to look like the priestess from the movie, but it took on a life of its own and now it looks more male. It's a partially transformed Deep One on his first trip down into Devil Reef. He's happy to be out and about, since he's been shut up in his attic for the last year or so. For the record, this is based on the story 'Shadow Over Innsmouth', not the movie.

I love the story and movie was very good. I was worried while watching it, if they had changed the end. You know guy saves his girlfriend, kills dagon, becomes hero. I was happy to see they keep the original end. For the picture I think eyes are too big even for a fish, maybe white part of the eyes are too big. I think irises should be larger. Other than that it is very nice. I like the stingy teeth.

This pic totally makes me think of Gollum.

Very nice. You've succeeded in capturing the early symptoms of a Deep One hybrid's transformation, though I don't think anyone from Innsmouth took to the water THAT quickly. But then again, recreational swimming was popular there...

Whatever. Excellent work.

Great song by the way.

Ms Scarecrow:

That Innsmouth face damnably near bit off the end of my snoot! Congratulations on a dramatic work of art! The bubbles are a special and ironic touch.

This picture is contrary to HP Lovecraft and the entire "Shadow over Innsmouth" atmosphere. There is no mystery, no "inperceptible" evil... Fit for a mug, maybe.... Lovecraft's was a far more sardonic horror... this looks like something out of some anime, and not like a degenerate of New England
