| 1 Aug 2001 | Kirk A. Dymbrowski | Loading...I like this too, not as much as your photoshop one. But thats because I have been exposed to your photoshop first(and fell in love with it). I see the sort of stringy-whispy style that shows through in the photo-shop version here though. Yes, it is probably a good idea for you to show your originals. One thing about photo-shop...it can be manipulated 'exactly'...exactly a certain amount of light shade color neon etc...(can punch in exact numbers)...its so meticulous and so perfect. but the original still has human messiness(not that photoshop doesn't), and that messiness is part of the charm...shows the anxiety and excitement of creation. computer-stuff can have messiness too but its not human nervous system/blood/flesh/ligament messiness----its computer messiness. Please show your originals too, we all like seeing them very much Lisa. | |
| 2 Aug 2001 | Kirk A. Dymbrowski | Loading.......better add this just so you don't misunderstand me....I no way am I saying this is messy. What I mean is its got the sort of chaos that is generated in the flesh of the body, as opposed to the chaos of a mathematically-modeled computer-randomness LOL. You know what I meant.....I am trying to say....I want to see your originals(we all do), as well as your photoshopified-versions. | |

| 24 May 2002 | Claire A. Kempa | Loading...I think I must agree with Sän. Pretty as the colours are on the photoshop ones, there is something wonderfully pure about pencil on paper (and paint on canvas). Your original drawings look very da Vinci, which is a good thing! Everyone loves da Vinci. Post more of these ones! They're breathtaking. | |
| 9 Dec 2002 | Michelle <lux@plu...com> | Loading...I dunno. I mean I like the picture, but I don't. I don't think it looks like the mythological Circe should. But other than that, it's a very good drawing ' Lisa Coleman replies: "I agree she doesn't look like your average Classical Greek, but I don't think she really has to, since she probably didn't exist anyway! But she does embody all the energy that Circe did, and that's what I'm trying to express by naming her Circe." | |
