	This is my funky mermaid. Her body is too long, and she just looks WRONG! But, I liked the pearls I used on her, so decided, screw the weirdness, I'm posting her anyways!

7 Mar 2002	Lisa Coleman	Loading... She has no rib cage, that's where the anatomy is off. I always start my drawings out by making an oval right where the ribcage will be, then sketching in a line for the spine. Once you have those elements, which are important structural elements of any figure, it's a lot easier to draw realistic figures. I also think a little more shading onthe torso would help, but that's less important. I love the pearl harness, it's a great idea.
7 Mar 2002	Laura	Loading... Though i agree that this is slightly disproportionate, i really think the face, hair, upper body, and "clothes" are really gorgeous. those scales must've taken forever, as well as the pearls. I like the background too

Since you already know about the proportions I won't dwell on that, but something that strikes me as strange is the way her tail is turned in relation to her body. Her body is fully facing us, and her tail is at full profile. If one or the other was turned 3/4 it would look more natural. I love her hair and her face, anyway. Her upper body makes this picture very much worth viewing.
5 Nov 2002	K. K. R.	Loading... Yes, I will admitt that it is out of proportion, but it is lovely just the same. As for constructive criticism, I think you should work on your subjects bodies. Some friends of mine swear by medical text books, because they illustrate the bone and muscle structure fairly well. I do have to say that you have incredible talent and the faces are beautiful.
