Great but to misquote the Princess Bride, "You're messing up the story, who kills Geno and Pactné".

You have a great gift in your ability to write and capture the reader so that they are immersed in the story.

Keep it up and God Bless

I read Ember's story a long time ago, but I never did get a chance to comment.
I was really confused about the end. What happened? Do she die from abuse of the guy she was sold to or what?
Please explain I'm still left hanging from anticipation.
I also read that you were going to write more! Please do! I want Ember back to Simon!

:-) Lisa Shannon Sanders replies: "Well, according to "Life After Death" (Book 5), Ember obviously escapes, as told by the "writer" of her story. Into some so-far nameless big city, to be lost amoung the crowds. The story ends there, with her running off into the sunset towards the big town and the narrator/writer returning back to the evil slaver Geno."

I'm completely up for that debate about Stephen Lawhead. Did you know that Arthur was a Pagan? And that Ganieda was Merlin's twin sister? And Ambrosius was not Uther's elder brother but another name for Merlin? Not to mention the fact that he included Atlantis (Atlantis huh?) and made their inhabitants into the faeries. The faeries have been around for... well, since religion has been around.

:-) Lisa Shannon Sanders replies: "Did you know that Arthurian scholars don't really know any "facts?" Multiple sources for such "facts" of a mostly mythological figure all seem to state different things. In the end, it all comes down to the version you decide to cling to and that fact that we don't really know, even if there ever was an Arthur. Allow me a quote from one amazing web source for all things dealing with myths:"Misconceptions and multiplicities abound. There are no exact answers. There are conglomerate characters, impossible timelines and wondrous exaggerations throughout. Every author that has ever wrapped his or her words around the legends has manipulated them to often very strange ends. No two books or scholars ever seem to agree. Nationalistic agendas abound." - Brian Edward Rise (editor) http://www.pantheon.org/mythica.htmlNow, for the reason why I choose to debate Lawhead's version: He is an excellent author and in the Pendragon Cycle he has created realistic and lovable characters. And while I am not against fairytales and magic, quite the opposite, I am thrilled how Lawhead has explained those supernatural qualities of Merlin and whatever other events into a more believable story for a modern world. It's something that says, "This could have happened. And maybe it happened just like this."As I said before, I am narrow-minded in this. I'll gladly admit that I've never done any studying. Why should I when I've found the version I love? The facts of Arthur mean nothing to me, because as far as I'm concerned, he's not a real historical figure where facts actually matter. If there was an Arthur, he was likely nothing as the legends go. I count them as completely different persons."

Hey Lisa, I really really like your stuff. Unfortunately reading on the computer gives me a headache if I do too much of it or I probably would've read all of what you have in one sitting. The only criticism I can offer (for Ember stories, I also read the Maiden's Kiss and loved it and Chaps I and II of Twin of Three and loved it) is that you are a little too succinct in some parts. Your writing seems to drain of all that wonderful and colorful imagery in areas where you are describing a lot of action...does that make sense? I will definitely be back. Please visit my writing here in Wyverrn's as well if you are so inclined. I forgot my PW so I can't provide a link at this time but you may search my name if you like. Keep writing talented one!

:-) Lisa Shannon Sanders replies: "Ok, if I'm following you correctly: During the faster paced scenes, I end to keep the description to a minimum? If that's what you're referring too, it's intentional. I want to keep the flow quick and precise. It gives me the feeling of action as I read...And if that's not what you're referring to.. ummm, then I guess you didn't make sense? =)"
