Elizabeth ´Chargon´ Davidson replies: "Orignally I thought him as a more Dragonized version of Charizard hence the stolen char from its charcoal and gon from Dragon. I wasn't orignal in names back then but everyone loved his designed and differentness that he slowly came one to his own than just a Pokemon of my own.
