You really should harness your potential. Continue to draw, but focus on one thing at a time. Be it figures, landscapes, etc, just a single thing. Good luck 2

So now, I come up with something possibly productive to say...
On using live models...I figure you've been doing it, judging from some of the stuff you showed me...those being the drawings of animals. The is a good thing. Hey, it's not too hard to find any given cat just lying there, asleep. And possibly you could get a horse to stand still long enough...? Oh, and don't forget...you've got Justin. He's a study if I've ever seen one...just sneak in when he's MUDding and draw him.
You've seen the results of what happens when -I- draw from life. That one I did of you lying down, in comparison to everything else I've ever done, is in all likelihood my best piece to date.
In general, don't bother timing yourself. Slow and steady, stock up on erasers...
And also, when drawing animals and humans, think of them as more a collection of shapes and angles that come together, and less of a single shape and body. I've always felt that this perspective tends to make it somewhat easier.
One last point...partially in response to Dave: Fingertips don't always reach down to one's knees....it's a matter of the subject's personal physique. Some do, yes, but not necissarily always. Me, I go by this: When a person's arm is hanging limp at their side, their elbow is usually adjacent to the thinnest portion of their waist (In women, where the waist measurement is taken...a point generally more obvious in leaner or more toned men), and the elbow divides the arm in half just about evenly...when you place your hand on the corresponding shoulder, the wrist is adjacent to the upper curve of the shoulder itself, and the hand, at least in my case, reaches mid-thing, my fingertips about four inches from my knee.
These are, at least, my personal guidelines for arms.
Anyway, hope what I said is useful...talk to you later.

Hah. Found you. It's Joe, Maria. I could redundantly state that I find your work to be extremely...pleasant, is probably the most appropriate word I can think of at this time. And your potential. But I repeat myself.
Do more stuff like 'Landscape'! The fantasy-style terrain, moons, and the use of a small figure thrown in works perfectly.
And that's my excuse to post here...^_^

Lots a luve/Killen-från-Arbetsförmedlingens-INFOmöte a.k.a "the guy that sat next to you"
