Down in the pits below the mortal land, our story starts,
Here the grounds are covered with the footprints of the damned.
The skies are dark and dreary,
This is where the lost souls go,
The ones of mean men and evil ladies.

The story I tell is fairly frightening,
Like a single bolt of lightening.
This tale of the Devil down in Hades,

The Devil, like the president, is in office for only so many terms,
Elected by Hell’s residents.
The current Devil was in his 13th year of the 13th term,
And doing quite the job,
When he decided he needed a first lady,
To make his black heart throb.

A woman of his land he searched for,
A demon that would love him and all his gore,
But though he searched through every valley and every cave,
And even dug up every grave,
No kindred spirit did he find.

Back in his office as he pondered,
He paced and wondered,
“When shall I ever find my mate?
I have searched all over this land of hate.”

To his cabinet he went,
At them his anger he did vent.
“I’ve searched and looked,
Peeked in every nook,
But no woman have I found.”
His smallest cabinet member looked at the ground and murmered,
“Devil, sir, why-why not try the land in the sky?”
Devil peered at the man over his glasses,
“Up on Earth?! They’ll kick our asses!”

“But what an intriguing idea,
A mortal to bring down here...”
He continued, his lips forming a sneer.
That night when the time was late,
The Devil took the form to find his mate.

He got a job at a school,
To watch those little snobs.

Over the year he had befriended,
The principal for he was gullible.
One night he was invited to dine,
And he was happy to find his friend’s wife was quite fine.

As they ate he watched her closely,
Noticing her splendid curves, mostly.
Her hair was red and curly,
And she was very nice, surely.

The next few days he dreamt of her.
Nym was her name,
But he loved her all the same.
“Now do I dispose of her man?” he wondered,

“Maybe chop off his head in a school fan?”
Finally he got his chance to eliminate the principal,

After it all the bodies were charred,
And plenty chunks of burning lard.
The Devil made his way to the newly widowed Nym,
To tell her where her husband was and what happened to him.

“Oh no! Oh Dear!” Nym cried,
“You mustn’t say this, you mustn’t lie!”
“Oh, but that is so very true,
By the way, can I stay with you?”

The widow’s face was covered with sobs,
“Fine, whatever, I just miss Rob!”

For many months the Devil stayed,
And over time the two played.
The lesson reader is use birth control,
But our story is not done,
We just had to let the two have some fun.

The weeks wore on and Nym got big,
“A Child!” the Devil exclaimed with a jig,
“An heir, a baby! Oh, how splendid.
Nym is huge, sorry dear, don’t get offended.”

It took some time,
But the baby slid out easy as can be,
It’s father’s face lit up with glee,
“My child, you are very special,
For you shall be the next Devil.”

The child was a healthy girl,
And soon she would rule the Nether World.

They raised the child for years together,
Not ashamed to tell her what she was, every.
She played the usual childhood games,
But she gave her dollies nasty names.

She loved her mommy, and her daddy.
But got in trouble a lot,
Though very gladly,
“Roscoe, don’t you curse!” her mother warned.
“But I can’t help it,
We must speak in verse!”

As years went on and puberty passed,
The truth about her parents’ marriage came out at last,
“You only stayed with me out of fear?!”
“Oh, please don’t hurt me, Devil dear!”

Her father was so very mad,
His wife had only stayed with him out of fright,
Afraid he would kill her in the night.

“Oh, how could you?! I can’t believe my ears!” the Devil exclaimed,
“Now, Nym, you have put me in tears!”
He agreed to give Nym her man back,
But Roscoe she would lack.

He gave Nym her dead husband,
And brought his grown daughter back to his land.
Every day at five o’clock Nym ventured to the underworld,
To see her lovely black-haired girl.

Eventually, Roscoe met a man, who she loved.
“Marry me, my fine dark dove?”
“Oh! Ed of course i will,
As long as you’re in for a good thrill.”

The two were wed,
Hell had never seen a happier event,
“My little Roscoe is growing up so fast,
Since to you she’s been sent,” Nym said.
“But there is another thing,” the Devil gasped,
“From my position I must retire,
And now my daughter they will admire.”

Roscoe accepted her place with great honor,
And glad her father didn’t wait any longer.
Edward was proud o fhis wife,
Her new power made him full of life.

And with that being said,
Roscoe, the new Devil, became with child,
“My dear, my dear, how exciting!
Now I shall be a grandmother, how wild!”
“Mother do not fuss so much,
Wait until I find out what it is, and such.”

She soon became aware,
That triplets she was to bear.
Through her pregnancy she did survive,
And three new babies, all alive.

And as the years wear on,
Our tale continues through the ages,
Characters come and are gone.
You may continue the pages.

And now the story is all up to you,
For I must bid you all adieu.
