Chapter 4

As far as the honey moon went there won't one. Max was far too busy to vacation. This relieved Nada.

She spent her days playing games with the servants. She had competitive kick ball teams going. Max knew nothing of this, if he did it would anger him. This didn’t fall into his beliefs of order and he didn't pay them to play with rubber balls.

Over the days Nada took up many hobbies, such as swimming in her husband's heated swimming pool. She also enjoyed painting and writing. Eventually, however, she got lonely from her husband’s absence.

When he got home from work he usually went directly to bed and paid her no mind. He did love her, but had little time for her. Max tried to make up for this by giving her anything she wanted and writing her notes every morning, such as:

Dear Nada, You are the only ray of sunshine in my dark world and you will never dim. Love, Your husband, Max

He truly did love her, but she wasn't as sure about him. She did long for companionship instead of being alone all day. So, she decided to pay her husband a visit in his office.

When she drew near the large heavy door she heard yelling, though she couldn’t make out what the woman’s voice was saying. She grabbed the handle and pulled the weight of the door open.

A woman looked over at the door, Nada could not see Max, for she was not far enough into the room.

The woman was dressed in a black dress that seemed to smoke, towards the bottom the fabric seemed to flow like water. She also wore black gloves. Her face was white and circled by the shadow of her black hair. Her one eye was completely black and a tattoo-like mark trailed down from it into a spiral.

Nada looked into the black eye, it seemed to put her into a trance, her whole body felt cold and frozen.

“Sylvia, what is it?” Max’s voice asked.

“There’s a woman at your door, sire,” the woman, apparently named Sylvia, answered. Her voice was chilling and smooth at the same time. When she spoke water vapor clouds came out into the room as if they were outside in the winter, which they were not. They were in the blistering heat of hell.

Max got up and pulled the door the rest of the way open, “Oh, it’s just my wife, Nada.” Max smiled at nada and spoke softer to just her, “Hello honey, what are you doing here?” He was obviously very pleased to see his wife.

“I was just wanting to see you,” Nada said, still disturbed from Sylvia’s eye she had looked into.

“Oh Nada, I’m so happy to see you, but I’m busy with an employee of mine. I’ll see you tonight.”

“Hardly! All you do is walk in, put on your pajamas and sleep! I am lonely, Max. We haven’t even made love yet and we’ve been married for several weeks! Not that I'm in a rush to do so, but it is troubling to me. You don’t understand my loneliness,” she broke down crying. All those feelings came out stronger than she thought they actually were.

Max stood there shocked. He didn’t understand loneliness? If anyone understood it, it was him. He felt awful. He loved Nada and he had let her down. Max was ashamed.

“I’ll um... come home early, I promise.”

There door closed on Nada and she gloomily walked away.

Nada had no idea what to do. She expected married life to be so much different, while it frightened her at first, she was finally ready and wanted it.

Suddenly, Alex took form in front of her. He reeked of lilacs and was wearing a three piece suite with sneakers and a tiara atop his head, nested in his blond hair.

“Oh Nada, I feel your pain.”

“What?” she responded, “Lord, how did you know I was upset?”

“You are one of my children, an outcast maybe, but still my own. I know when something is bothering you.”

“Oh,” she looked up at his blue eyes, “What should I do? I’m so alone here. He completely ignores me.”

“Nada, I can give you what you need, and you can return here before he comes back from work.”

“What do you mean?” she asked.

“I think you know, it’s what you want,” and with that the two of them were surrounded by a new location. One where childhood memories live forever. Alex and Nada made their own memories in Alex’s bed of clouds.

Max hurried back to his room as soon as he could, he intended to keep his promise to his wife. Upon entering his old rotting bedroom he found Nada, asleep on their bed, wearing nothing but her delicate pale skin.

He sat by her and ran his hand over her bare back. She was beautiful, like an angel.

He lit a cigarette and smoked it while he watched her sleep. Each exhale and inhale made wonderful music through her generous pink lips.

Oh, how he lusted for her, but being a virgin and a hermaphrodite, he did not know what he could do for her.

He put his cigarette out in the ashtray on his nightstand and undressed. He lay down next to his wife and rubbed his hands down the back of her body to her bottom. He then rolled onto his side and pulled her close, and there he slept, holding her nude body to his, the happiest man in the universe.
