this is just so funny, Richard. And it reminds me of a royal portrait where the king and his family were all as hairy as werewolves. i can’t remember the king or the artist unfortunately.

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Actually, I haven’t though about any Beauty and the Beast similarities. You can say this image was just inspired by that feeling of alienation all of can feel towards our relatives.
I’m actually working on putting together a little illustrated book about the particular story of this girl and her creepy family. Let’s just say it’ll be about the perceptions about what’s normal and what’s not. "
