You can't choose your relatives...

10 Aug 2008:-) Jessica Warner
Oooh...cute little blue eyed blonde, no emotion...

No doubt she is the scariest one of the lot. I like her ringlets though.

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, I’m always scared by cute girls!"
4 Dec 2008:-) Jeanette M Thomas
Reminds me of "Twilight Zone" story "Eye of the Beholder". Who can define "normal"?

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, in this case she’s the "monster" and should have our sympathy."
6 Mar 2009:-) Mariposa Gollery
I like they’re all ugly and stuff and then they call her odd because she’s pretty! Interesting concept!

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, there are all kinds of outsiders."
12 Jul 2009:-) Tom Draco Noir Taylor
this is just so funny, Richard. And it reminds me of a royal portrait where the king and his family were all as hairy as werewolves. i can’t remember the king or the artist unfortunately.

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Never heard of that illustration (or the artist). Would be interesting to know more about that."
29 Oct 2009:-) Camilla Blomdahl
....because they choose you!

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "And then -what can you do..?"
6 Jan 2010:-) Daniela Black Phoenix Irimiash
Indeed, shes pretty while her familly can creep the hell outta’ you...! 16 *laughts* Some links to Beauty and the Beast? 1

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Actually, I haven’t though about any Beauty and the Beast similarities. You can say this image was just inspired by that feeling of alienation all of can feel towards our relatives.
I’m actually working on putting together a little illustrated book about the particular story of this girl and her creepy family. Let’s just say it’ll be about the perceptions about what’s normal and what’s not. "
29 Jan 2010:-) Wout de groot
hey nice painting!
I used this one for a drawing of my own, i published it as well, may i leave it here? or do you want me to remove it because i used your picture as refference10

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, if you put some info beside your drawing saying that my image is your inspiration I won’t mind."
8 Feb 2010:-) Rachael E Smurthwaite
This is my favorite. Though, I don’t know which creepy relative I like best....1
Lovely work! Keep it up!

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, I kinda like it too. I’m turning it into a story which I’m illustrating when I have the time and the inclination."
6 Sep 2010:-) Jirah Reckinger
Oh, dear. Poor child.
I like the old lady one best 14
12 Oct 2010:-) Kayla M Acosta
