| 3 May 2002 | Lil' Dragonfly | Loading...I'm completely blown away. I've always wanted a pet raven, and that one is just so... sleek and absolutely perfect. The quality and concept are just more than I could ever hope for in one of my drawings. And this is the first one of yours I've looked at... *goes to see more* Lora Craig-Gaddis replies: "Thanks! I'm so glad you liked him. As pets, crows are loyal, possessive and always "into" something! But they can also be very destructive and I imagine their cousin, the raven, would be the same. Let me know if you ever get one!" | |
| 21 May 2002 | Immortalmaster | Loading...So touching! It reminds me of my black cat Killer who left me a while ago. I didn't get the chance to really mourn him properly thanks to the worst morning sickness in history (sent me to the emergency room on one occasion.) So I still shed tears over him at times. But I bet he's somewhere partying with Edgar and others while keeping a close eye on all of us. | |
| 27 May 2002 | Calisto | Loading...Hmmmm, radioactive crows...Impressive! | |
| 8 Sep 2002 | BadhbhCatha | Loading...It's hard for me to word how much I adore this work without saying the same 'ol thing, like 'ohmygosh!' or '.....<gape>'. Hopefully you get the idea.
This makes me wish for a mat (sp?) that is shaded from black in the LL to bright white in the UR. I wonder how that would look. | |
| 14 Oct 2002 | Kelley Raine | Loading...I miss Edgar so much... Ohhh, he was such a sweet thing. At least he's in a better place... but he also was before he went to heaven. This is such a beautiful picture that has so much meaning. I love the lighting around Edgar. | |
| 25 Oct 2002 | Joost, A.K.A Lopting | Loading...I've written a poem 'raven flies invane', but that's sad. This, however, is glorious, beautifull and all! | |
| 6 Jul 2004 | Binjuice | Loading...Personally, this is a mighty picture, but as soon as I saw the wprd Edgar My thoughts trailed to the ever famous poem, 'The Raven' by 'Edgar Allan Poe' very suiting isn't it... 'And the Raven quoted, Nevermore' Lora Craig-Gaddis replies: "Thank You! ...and actually, you're right "on". It was from the famous poem and it's author that Edgar got his name. The friend who brought him to me as a baby, and who worked for our local Animal Control, swore he must be a raven. So "Edgar" it was. Then, upon finding he was, instead, simply a Very Large crow (for his age) he became "Edgar Allen Crow" and a standard character in the "Elsie & Pooka" stories.I hope the picture is powerful - the emotions behind it were." | |
| 29 Sep 2004 | Evan | Loading...Love the art! At first I thought it was a reference to Edgar Allen Poe's "Raven." Your story intrigued me, as I recently quit my nine-to-five, to pursue my writing career. One book finished. Another underway. Still looking for an agent! We cannot let the arts lose to technology! | |
| 21 Nov 2004 | CrowBane | Loading...I am very sorry to hear about Edgar, but even more surprised that you kept a crow as a pet. Please, tell me more about it? Lora Craig-Gaddis replies: "Thank you. And the plan was that I'd simply care for Edgar til he was ready to rejoin the wild. Instead, he chose to keep Me. I now run a baby crow Rehabilitation Center" each Spring. If you'd really like to know more, feel free to e-mail me privately. " | |
