This was for my daughter, Mandy, who commented, 'He's an elf, right? There should be a book on Fairytales!' I hastily adlibbed:'Well, he's supposed to be studying, the one he's reading is a fairytale book!' That satisfied her... Paintbrush Pro again.

Simple is good. You can still make it rich while keeping it simple--range of color, more contrast in your value scheme. One of the things this picture struggles with that some of your others don't is a slight skewing of the figure. The simplest way to fix this is to flip the picture horizontally and see where it looks wrong. Your eye will see it right away. I have to do this all the time, sometimes drawing things backwards and upside down to get them right. Great idea, though! I love the concept.

It's a little fuzzy, but it's good! Work on the hands too.

I think I'd like this on my wall or at my office. It's very well done, fresh and exactly what I would like to glance at when I am completely tired.

I think your daughter is very smart. What good is it to know all the spells and charms by heart if you don't know how and when to use them? That is why he needs to study his fairy tales!

:-) Lora Craig-Gaddis replies: "Thanks! and help yourself to the book - just remember, please, to bring it back when your done or else I'll have to draw another one!"
