SHE'S BEAUTIFUL! Great job on the robe and her eyes, she looks like she's really concentrating.

Whee!!!! Update! Now, I really love this pic, and it's so prettily coloured! I love her robe, and her hair! It's all sorts of funkiness, great work Ludi!

Her face is unique! She´s beautiful!

This is my favorite of all the drawings you have up here. You say Elu has changed a good deal since this time- I'm tempted to say I like this better. Yet, I know the touchiness of people's pet projects. I can't find anything wrong. Yes, not even I. I admire the shade of blue for her robe... and the fact of a robe itself... What can I say? I like how Elu looks a great deal. Ah, well... Too bad this version isn't the way she's supposed to be. But then again, I wouldn't want to be around when she's forming dark energy between her hands either. ;D Still- I must agree with many of the former commenters. She is what I see as -very beautifull, though I wouldn't tell her that. Several things I particularly like are how you created the illusion of a sort of light emitting from her (or the dark energy?)... and how, oh HOW, do you get the highlights on hair to look so good?!! Shoot, it's up in the air as my favorite pic. Period. :\

Ludovica Wing Shuen Price replies: "I'm glad you like this picture. It's not my especial favourite, but I quite like the way it turned out. You mentioned liking the highlights on the hair - basically, this is just done by painting strips of black in different dilutions, and leaving some strips white to give the illusion of light shining on the hair. It's one of my fave parts to paint!You'll probably glad to know that Elu hasn't changed very much since this - only really the length of her hair! And maybe a few of her facial features. So you can still like her as much as you want!"

LOL! Let me guess... the hair has gotten to just below her shoulders, and the features are more realistic, not quite as placid? But, aye... I shall continue to think Elu is an intriguing character. ;D

...I think I'll try experimenting with hair highlighting for a bit. I need to get more pictures drawn to put up anyway. :\ Nearly all of those that are up aren't my best work and a bit outdated to boot. :\ Well- a) when I get an update up (which I have no idea how soon't shall be), you are DEFINATELY getting a link, and b) thank you for the artistry tip. I'm glad you like working on the hair. Yet- painting it? *blinks in surprise* I didn't think this had been painted... Well, you learn something new everyday... I had thought colored pencil. If this is painted, then as far as painting goes, you're better then I'll EVER be. And if you've got a long way to go as you say, I'd be practically speechless to see what you can do when you get there.

Ludovica Wing Shuen Price replies: "Thanks again for the support Shawn This painting was done with some cheap watercolours I bought while I was out in China, so that's probably why they look like pencils! Also, the paper was very coarse and non-absorbant. Not good for paints "

For a minute I agreed with Shawn, it does look a little like pencil ^^
But the watercolours are apparent, and its soo beautiful!
I love her face, yes, its slightly different than many female characters, but the unique-ness is very convincing, and makes her a very great original-looking character.
The robe is simply amazing, I can't believe you did that with water-colours *they never work for me...*
Her expression too is very good - half serene and half-sad, but the dark-power in her hands is kind of counteracting against that, which is cool ^^
is there a story behind her? 'cos I'd love to read it ^^

I like this pic. If I look quick I see a harmless, beautifull, peaceful healer. But then I see the black magic she´s preparing that gonna kill someone or something.
"Skenet kan bedra" Thats an old say we have in Sweden.
And i like the hair. You always have beautifull hair on their heads. Maybe you started to learn how to do the hair before you started with anything else ? Anyway I like the most things on this pic. Just... She seems to wear a wig.(peruk.Swedish word for wig.) The place were her hair is connected to her skull. The place you can see in the middle up on her head. It does´nt... It seems to be a big colour jump. Well... Of cource it is because it is black but what I mean is that the end of the hair should float in
in the skull. It doesn´t do that. It just ends...
And the light seems to bend itself where no normal light would. There are many places in thius pic where it doesn´t
fit with light/dark. But pherhaps I don´t understand the light source. If it is born out of some magical sort. Then my words wont hold in a court. And you got those "ET" fingers again.
And the cloac seem to have been cut out of clay. cool.
Hmm... shoud´nt there be some ribbs on her?

She does look like my ex. class mate. Sheila was her name. She didn´t got those finger thou. ))
But I like the picture.
I like the clay style on the cloak.
And of cource the hair.
And one thing. I don´t always got the time to comment everything on the picture because I have to do some urgent bussines. So some times the comments can seem a little weird. But you should know that I know that you have worked with your pictures and that I can see the details in them. That also goes for the stories you have made.

Ludovica Wing Shuen Price replies: "Thanks for the comment and criticism I know what you mean about the hair on the forehead - that, I feel, is just a throwback from the days when I used to be into Japanese manga I'm still working on breaking away from that. And I agree about the light source as well; but then I don't pay as much attention to light sources as I should I'm not very happy with this picture myself, but I thought I'd put up an earlier picture of Elu "

This picture is very nicely done. The illumination on the skin adds a very nice touch of realism. Her hair is wonderfully done too. Great work! ~*~Megg~*~

You've got a great technique with watercolours *sigh* I don't think her face looks mannish at all, just very distinctive ;D Does this actually happen in the story?
