'With a short cry she leapt up and drove at him, her sword raised high above her head. With a surge of anger that surprised even herself she slashed at him with such force that she thought for a moment she must have killed him. But he had lifted his sword in defence, and her blow had not connected. Seeing that he had thwarted her again she stood back with a snarl, only to lunge forward again and slash once more. Again he raised his sword to defend himself, and her blade met his with a deafening clang, catching them both in a sword lock. Elu held on fiercely, drawing him back, fighting his might viciously with her own. Keir stumbled backward momentarily, astonished at her hidden strength. Never had he expected anything like this from her! Still he managed to hold his ground, but the voracity of her attack and the savage look on her face had shocked him. His sword finally gave way to hers, and in a trice she was upon him again.'

18 Nov 2006	Anonymous	Loading... Who said this was anime? Really, it's not. There is nothing classic anime about it. I like this pic, the expression is great the only critque that I have is how the girl holds the sword. What is described is an angry fight. The grips on the swords looks too casual and loose, and it makes it so that the expression (once again great) looks unjustified. Other than that bravo

31 Dec 2006	Robynne	Loading... -Elu's right leg is set slightly off [perhaps the knee could be pointed more to the right of the page] -I haven't read your story, so I dunno if the green shoes serve a purpose but... they seem ridiculous. ~I like the choice that your protagonist would be facing away from the angle chosen... it strikes of a pleasing confidence in Elu and that's nice to see of an artist. ~I'm impressed with Elu's hair- it's mobile due to the tussle and I'm glad that you've shown it. ~Previous reviewers' comments about the defender's expressoin and the fencing stance [authentic- nice to see] Overall, I am envious. This is very well drawn and coloured for a lovely effect as a whole. (Also, I find that the trees are strange but they just seem to fit. I can't be any more eloquent, sorry. Anyhow, this piece had effectively heightened my curiousity towards your story. Well done, Ludi.

18 Jan 2007	Dragonsluver	Loading... Hey, cool pic. I like how you drew them in the right positions for swordplay. I'm in fencing and thought that was pretty cool. A desevred mods choice to be sure.
24 Aug 2007	Aaron	Loading... Wow, nice picture. I like it a lot, and I can feel the emotion coming out. It's nice, though for future instruction on blade fights, the lunge position of the attacker should be coupled with a pointed blade--the sideways thrust wouldn't do anything. However, I LOVE the defender's position and the way he has a shocked look on his face. BEAUTIFUL work! Thank you much for sharing!
