	You know, legend says that when St. Patrick came to preach the gospel to the people of Ireland, he banished all the snakes as well (in the Bible, the serpent deceived Eve, and so many believed snakes to be of the devil). I'm a big fan of Celtic designs and knots, so here's a horned snake, intertwined with a tangle of knots, creating a beautiful design and reminding us of Celtic lore.

I love the reference to the original lore of St.Patrick and the way you intertwined the serpents' organic curves into the formal design. It's a very creative and unique juxtaposition and a lovely piece of work. Lydia Thomas replies: "Thanks a bunch. This piece took a very long time to do and it was difficult to get it to look symetrical and correct. The snake was the funnest part to do. I actually learned that stuff about St. Patrick in school when I was studying the history of the Catholic Church. Thank you very much for commenting."
1 Oct 2007	Sue	Loading... Whoa! Missed this one earlier. Wow. I really like it! Weaving a snake in the design probably wasn't too easy but you did an awesome job. The different shades and shadowing are very good. I really like this drawing. How old were you when you did this?
