SciFi and Fantasy Art Unjust Punishment by Lydia Thomas

Have you ever been punished for something you didn't do? Not just something you didn't think you should be punished for, but really something you had nothing to do with? Or maybe someone was mean to you because they didn't like you, or didn't like your parents or your friends? Then you know what this angel feels like. He is being punished simply for being good, for being an angel, for being a servant of God. The sinful hate God and all that follow him or serve him, and so they seek to hurt and destroy all that is good. Those who follow the strait path know this, and God gives them strength to endure all persecution in His name. This angel knows that, and though his body may be abused and broken, his spirit is strong in the Lord and he knows that he will have an everlasting reward.

I paid special detail to the wings, it was a lot of fun, but very tedious, and I had to keep sharpening my pencil. Thank you for the comment!"
4 Oct 2007	Heather	Loading... wow... beautiful piece, very stunning. i like your description, its very true. our bodies are like shells that our souls inhabit, and i think you said it very well how his body can be "abused and broken" but his heart and soul and spirit are forever in the Lord. 1 Apr 2011	VivianErikson	Loading... Fantastic job! (: I was searching for ages for a painting that would stir up a feeling of having your freedom taken from you, at least physically, for my unit on determinism in my Philosophy class, and this just fit the category so well. Beautiful, great piece.
