Lydia Thomas

Lydia is a busy girl who draws as a outlet for her immagination.

Hey, My name is Lydia Thomas, I'm 21. The only reason I draw is because I like to, I'm not very good, but I get better with each picture I draw. I am very busy, so I don't draw as much as I like to, but I try to draw when I can and so I have slowly accumulated a good number of drawings. I draw in pencil (because I have nothing else at the moment, I may expand later), and sometimes I color it with colored pencil.  Recently I've gotten into drawing with pens (inking) and sometimes I use colored pens.  They don't smudge over time like pencils do.  I hope you enjoy my drawings, please comment. I do appreciate your praise, but I'm thinking more toward comments on how I can improve my drawings. I would also like to know why you like my drawings, not just that you like them. Thanks!

well here I am, your ability with just plain pencil drawings are fenominominal( from a Dr. pepper commercial ). you really don't need improvement much, there are certain styles people tend to see and somewhat admire, so they adopt these styles and do there best with it. The only problem here is your lack of confidence. Also you have been given a great gift, use it with confidence.

2 Lydia Thomas replies: "Thank you so much! I am very glad you like my art. I'm probably just really critical of myself. I'm kindof a perfectionist. I also go around and look at all these other wonderful artists and see that I'm really not that good compared to most. So maybe I'm just being humble. Thanks again for visiting my gallary."

Hi Lydia... Thanks so much for sending me an announcement/invitation to your high school graduation. Congratulations! What is the next step? College...which one? Judging from your website, I'm thinking your major might just be art.

Hope you'll jot me a line... Otherwise I'll just have to wait for your family's 2007 newsletter.

2 Lydia Thomas replies: "Actually I'm going to stay home a year and earn money, then I'm going to college. Unfortunatley I'm not going to do anything with art. Though I do love to draw, my major interests and skills lie elsewhere. Thanks for visiting my site though"

Don’t preach to people about studyig the Bible with an "open" mind, when it is BEYOND clear that you are not competent of such a feat. Can we say hypocrisy?

:-) Lydia Thomas replies: "Well, I’m sorry you feel that way about me, but this is the internet where one can say whatever one pleases without any accountability whatsoever, therefore I am neither surprised nor offended.

Second, I would like to congratulate you for your perception of the truth: you are absolutely right that I am completely INCAPABLE of studying the Bible with an "open" mind because my mind already belongs to the Lord and everything I do begins with the presupposition that He is God of the universe and that everything He says in his word is correct. This is called faith and obedience, which as a Christian I am commanded to do.

Third, I would like to apologize for making an obviously confusing statement if I said I wanted people to study the Bible with an "open" mind (which I do not remember saying, but then that could be my poor memory), I want people to study the Bible with an open heart, not an open mind. I want them to study the Bible with a heart open to hearing what the Lord is trying to say to them, because without the Holy Spirit to open you eyes, the Bible does indeed seem like a big waste of time.

Fourth, I would agree with you in that I am a hypocrite. I am a fallen human being and I sin, all the time and a lot, despite the fact that I strive not to. As a Christian I am saved by God’s grace and he gives me the strength and will to not sin, and as a result I spend a lot more time doing God’s will than I did before I was a Christian. However, since the Fall man has been incapable of being perfect and among my many sins is in fact hypocracy. I thank you for pointing this out and I pray that the Lord will help me to be less so in the future.

Thank you for your comment! "

Hi Lydia, I was searching for a celtic knot pattern to carve into a candle I made and I came across your friendship one. I tampered with it to make it easier for me to trace first. I tried to carve it but just could not do it justice, and instead stuck the print-out to it. I absolutely love your design; there is something about the 4s in the knot that is really visually harmonic.

I thought you might appreciate a photo, since after all, it -is- your design.

I hope you get to read this!

:-) Lydia Thomas replies: "Well, I’m honored! Thanks for letting me know about it, its always nice to see how you inspire other people. That’s also a very nicely taken picture (cool lighting)...I think I might make it my desktop background 2"

My apologies, that link doesn’t seem to want to work anymore. Strange considering it’s the link I -just- got. Silly facebook.

:-) Lydia Thomas replies: "Wow, that gorgeous! I’m so glad you liked the design, and I’m not surprised it was too hard to carve in the candle 12> It was pretty hard to draw too. You should see some of my other stuff, though. I know I’m a bad girl for not posting my recent artwork, but in the past year or so I’ve only done celtic designs...very complicated and fun ones. Maybe I’ll try to post them on my site over christmas. Check back in a few weeks and they may be up."

Great work! I must say, your artistic style is very unique and meaningful. The ability to convey emotions through such an art form is quite a gift, so I’m positive I’ll be coming back to see more in the future! 1
