I don't know how many of you have noticed, but I have finally returned to my page.  I am now a 22 year old wife and mother of one, trying despearately to continue writing.  I'm afraid I took about a two year hiatus where I didn't do any serious writing at all.  But I am back, at least for the moment, and I thank those few that left comments.

I still have several vague dreams of teaching English as a second language in Japan, and then perhaps returning to America to teach Japanese. I still absolutely idolize David and Leigh Eddings, specifically the Belgariad and the Malloreon, and C.S. Lewis is positively brilliant. I am definitely a Tolkien fan, pre-movies, thank you very much. I worship the ground that Tolkien wrote on. He was masterful.  However I am now also into Kate Forsyth as well. Those brilliant minds are what inspire me to pick up my pen every day and try in my own feeble way to create beauty in the written word the way they did. I doubt I shall ever achieve it, but I will do what I can to come close. I hope you enjoy my small contribution to the world of fantasy literature. If you ask real nice, I might even put up some of my bigger stories here, rather than the shorter flashes of lightning in my head.

Welcome to the woods, Jess. I hope you enjoy it here, great place with some great people.

Speaking of great, your work is magnificent and detailed. I liked both of them, and with nothing bad to report about either.

I do hope you update with more, I would love to see some more work of yours!

:-) Jessica Lyn Thurber replies: "Why, thank you very much. It's nice to feel welcomed. Be sure that I will have more as soon as I can get it up."

You must write more to Storm Tamer. Way too short. Just got into it and it was over. I hope you plan to expand it.
I look forward to it.

Hey I just dropped by and read both of your stories and I have to say I'm impressed. You have a very great style, and while I'm not the biggest David Eddings fan in the world (sorry), I can definitely see that you've grown from reading his work. You've got an orignial style and just need to post more is all I can say.

I find myself returned to your Wyvern shelf. This time to say:

Congratulations for being selected Writer of the Day!

Come leave your footprints on my own dusty little shelf sometime.

Hello Jessica,
Though I am not much of a fantasy writer, I do enjoy reading your work. Job well done! I did notice one thing in your writing I wanted to share with you. Your choice of words leaves your story, or all of them for that matter, quite powerful. I have always enjoyed this particular style but to enhance that even more, you could leave out some of the "The's" in your stories. Maybe this is something to try..might work, might not. I'm just wondering if it might help your already wonderful stories flow a little better. I hope to read more of your work soon, Take care ~Lucy
