| 12 Dec 2003 | Your dwarf uncle Paulus | Hi Maartje, It’s been a wile since I last visited Elfwood to have a look at your drawings/paintings. I must say that I really love the confused elf. And don’t say that is because I am a confused dwarf! (I still remember a certain poem from a Spanish Bishop adressed to me!) No I really like the way you chose the colours. And that comment also goes for the creature from the sea. I think you’re good at making coloured paintings of creepy/scary creatures. Go on creating them. (Unless they make you feel unhappy, of course.) See you soon, your dwarf uncle Maartje Roest replies: " I shall tell this certain Spannish Bishop that you liked the poem " | |

| 26 Jul 2005 | Sabrina Schurse | Hi there! I wanted to say thanks for your comment to "a thousand butterflies". ^-^ And you're right about the last sentence, the butterflies are no good creatures. Well, the story behind the pic is a bit weird...^^' I thought like this: the butterflies are a symbol for her memories of the times when she was not lonely, of all the good things in her life which have gone forever. So if she dies, they will die with her, and they don't want that. So with their song about the old times they keep her from killing herself, for their own sake. Umm, I said it was weird and silly. XD Actually I just wanted to thank you for your thoughts on the pic! ^-^ Maartje Roest replies: " Beautiful! Not weird and silly at all! The whole thought behind the pic gives me chills. It touches me in some way, even though Im not entirely sure why." | |
