'Scarborough fair- Simon and Garfunkel' So the song actually has nothing to do with the pic but I just listened to it over and over while painting, so now its a part of the painting, and had to be posted with it.
I dont know why but yin yang has always been an important symbol for me. In my opinion it represents finding 'de gouden middenweg' of which I have no idea how to translate (Babel fish says something like the golden middle course :S), not through finding a way that is neither of two opposites, but through finding a way by combining two extreme opposites. I so hope someone understood what I mean. Anyway, I actually made this pic for a friend even though I kinda didnt tell her. I feel that when yin and yang repressents two people, its not always two complete opposites. More like being completely different in everything youre the same in. And so here are two elves, kinda androgynos(did that on purpos!), completly different in everything that theyre the same in.

This is really simple and graceful. i love the contrasts in the colours, and how you didn't immediatly go for the pbvious black and brown.
the blueish tinge in the lower one's face works really well.
