Tag As FavoriteComment		I'm still not quite sure what she's thinking about (Any ideas?), but I like the mood of this piece. I still haven't managed to fully complete a background yet (Mulvey would kill me. 'Composition, Maery. Not just a person!' He always hated that I'd do that.)
And before you tell me there are no female satyrs, I already have heard that a hundred times, and my answer to you is, 'How can you apply rules on imagination?'. 'Nuff said.
This was my atempt at a realistic looking satyr... I think I did a decent job overall but the leg hair gave me a headache. Next time, I don't think I'll attempt a crouching pose... but it was a nice challenge.

HB-4B pencils, black pencil crayon and a stump on 65lb paper.

Gosh!
This is great!
Im a big fan of greek mythology,(Dionysus kicks butt!)
and ive always had a soft spot for satyrs
nearly all pictures of them a male, but there has to a a few females kicking around(lame pun)
Though im pretty sure shes just as randy as the guys are!
thinking,hmm, i wonder when the next guy is coming along...

This is absolutely beautiful! She is actually the first female satyr I've ever seen but will probably be the best. Nice pose and I like how she looks so frail or vulnerable. Love her skin!

First I agree: Imagination people!!!!
But I also have to say female satyrs are known as fauns.
Wordweb, a well known online dictionary defines a faun: Ancient Italian deity in human shape, with horns, pointed ears and a goat's tail; equivalent to Greek satyr.
Sorry, the sesquipedalian (Given to the overuse of long, ponderous,many syllabled words) nitpicking lover of trivia in me had to put my two cents worth in.
The pensive expression is best served by the lack of background. Tell the guy (I forgot his name) who preaches composition that sometimes less is more, and a statement, not an omission.
Can you tell I'm a writer? (unpublished as yet)
