This is me attempting to be my oh-so-talented boyfriend, Anthony Green: the 'comic book style' god.
It's continuing along the same theme as 'Faery in a Bottle' using diffrent test subjects this time. My mermaid obsession played a part in chosing her, and the gnome just worked. Originally there was a caged dragon and chained up pixie, but I wasn't really inspired for them, so I stuck to the first two. Maybe a full version will come out eventually. Who knows.
Anthony helped me alot during the creation of this piece considering the idea was mine, but not the layout. I wanted to deviate from me normal style and try something bolder, with more of a comic book feel to it. It's sorta a collaborated effort. He bascially sketched in the layout in pencil for me using my sugestions as guidlines, them I came in later and inked over it, changed alot of things as I went along. I made a few mistakes, and I was seriously considering giving up since I'm really not used to inking, but it worked out in the end. I figured this could be a new look for me. Until the novelty wears off, of course.

Pencil, Ink on 60lb paper.

I would like to direct your attention to a story on my Wyvern's page, entitled 'Monster Under My Ben'. It has very similar themes to your most excellent picture here.
Well done!

I LOVE this picture! The two of them are like night and day!! The gnome's seeming boredom makes it sort of unintentionally funny.

I feel bad for the poor mermaid...she looks scared. however, the gnome is awesome! He looks like he's ready to contact his lawyer. X-D
