Maggie Stanley has been doing art for as long as she can remember. There are gaps sometimes, but her head is always full of images, music and words. Enough for several people, perhaps. (Gemini) |

Maggie Stanley replies: "Thanks a lot. I will let you know - although it might be a while! Your stuff is amazing - good luck with the illustration work. Your work is certainly as good as anything I have seen." | |
| 4 Jul 2003 | Howard faria | I must say...your work is truly phenominal...what i would call esoteric art! Thank god, you avoided "instructions"...and pursued your own passions! This is truly wonderful multi-dimensional stuff! Maggie Stanley replies: "Thanks so much for your comments - I enjoy your work very much as well. That is how I think about the art. I have just come through a very travel-filled period and hope to be able to smooth out some space and time in which to create. I look forward to more of your work as well." | |
| 12 Aug 2003 | Noah - | Truly beautiful work... wonderous line work and I dig the way you experiment with diferent media... I can tell you have fun drawing, there's so much soul in them.. Maggie Stanley replies: "Thanks - I do enjoy it, very much. I have been thinking lately of how imperfect my art is. I have focussed on how I should try to make things precise, and that I need to use some computer programs to make perspective and proportions perfect. While I might follow this path for some art, I doubt that I will be able to go on the same journeys that my handwork takes me on. I love the motion and the flow of using my hands and the layers that I can manipulate and touch. Anyway - thanks for your words. I really do appreciate the feedback this forum allows, so I can get out of my stagnant thought processes!" | |
| 25 Aug 2003 | Noah. furler. | hmmm, I like imperfection - flaws are interesting. - pictures lose their aliveness when inked or photoshoped to death - ( computers are a good tool though, in their way just not as a god in their own right.. I'm a bit of a recent convert to the digital realm and while it's fun to muck around in and explore stuff it will never replace good ol' ink and parchment. ) - I like what you said too about the parallel between dreaming and the process of creating artwork... they are somewhat akin to each other, especially in the way they help us to make sense of the world.. - well thats my two cents - I think I'll go look at some of the drawings now , ciao. Maggie Stanley replies: "yup - that's the conclusion I'm coming to. I think that the programs could be used to create good scaffolding or background on which to build. perhaps take the place of the need to set up a physical model. your art, for instance... there's an element in it that I don't think would come out if you were to try to use only computers." | |
| 22 Nov 2003 | Chelsea Castonguay | I love this gallery, it's very nice!! I was wondering if you live in Maine, like me, because of where your global positioning in...anyway, great stuff, keep it up! Maggie Stanley replies: "Thanks! I will try to do more, but it doesn't look likely before the holidays, unfortunately! I really was hoping to make some prints available. Ah well. Nope - not Maine. Massachusetts!" | |
