From my AP art portfolio, this time from Native American legends. It began as a sketch of Coyote, but after he'd progressed I decided he needed something to be looking at, and added the miniature battle taking place to the side. The combatants chosen were the result of the urgings of my friends--a year previous, in American Lit, we'd watched an extremely out-of date film on the mythological origin of corn, which featured two enigmatic fellows with forgettable names. We promptly dubbed them 'Corn Man' and 'Black-Hand-Face Man,' and folkloric history was made. We are very lame indeed.

KEWL! I'm Lakota and Ojibwa, and while Coyote's mainly a Pueblo trickster, I still love 'im! You should draw one with him and that one spider dude that he's friends with. Your style's really good, too! Keep up the good work, and now I'm off to peruse some more of your gallery!

Great work with the bold colors ^^

I wonder which of the little guys he's bidding on to win! j/k

:-) Hope L Kodman replies: "Well, in the story/movie, Black-Hand-Face-Man wins, and the diminished Corn Man tells him the secrets of agriculture. Or maybe just Corn-Agriculture. It's been like five years..."

The large guy's pretty skinny looking -- close to anorexic.

:-) Hope L Kodman replies: "As much as Coyote likes to eat, it probably won't be for long..."

Have you ever seen a cartoon series called Gargoyles? It's awesome, and has lots of characters from mythology, Oberon and Titania, Odin, King Arthur, Cuchulainn, Coyote, Anansi, and Anubis. Coyote was in it, he could take different forms.

I like the derskin outfit and the paint. he looks cool. The background is pretty good too.

I love the colors, very vibrant. It makes it ring more Mayan/Aztec, more central america than north America. The face, especially: narrow with high-cheek bones and a broken nose, the look the Mayans strived for. The designs, the cloths, the hair, they all look Native American. I very much like your drawing style though.

You were in AP art? How is that art class different from any other stupid art class? You probably thought you were good at art or something going into the class, but let me tell ya buddy, i think you need to revisit the remedial art class, or possibly the remedial art class for retarded people. I’m just throwing that out there, and being perfectly honest. You know dog, I mean like I thought this drawing was so bad it was funny...but then it dawned on me that it wasn’t really even funny to begin with, which I found kind of surprising. Even more surprising, I am just totally worn out by the fact that you spent so much money to take a class that isn’t even suitable for your "kindergarten" art drawings. I dont know, after looking at this piece of coyote vomit, I really hope you failed that class, cause it just wouldn’t be fair to other students in other classes who have to stifle their vomit every time they walk into the room when they see your disgusting art work. Good job.
