Hmm, birdman, such an original name... :P But I still don't have a name for this species, but I like him. It was nice to work with ordinary pencils again, it was a long time since I used them, and I really enjoyed drawing this. :)

Have you ever heard of the Author Tamora Pierce? In one of her series she describes a creature kind of like this one. The only difference is that hers are evil. I can't remember what they are called though. The books that they are mentioned in are "Wild Magic", "Wolf-Speaker" and "Emperor Mage". This is an awesome picture! I love his legs and his tail.

The detail work is exquisite, and those are some very origional wings!

I absolutely love the feet. And the wings. And the feathers on the head... I LOVE IT ALL! That's so awesome. So detailed...

The creatures in Tamara Pierce's books are called Stormcrows - essentially harpies.

*looks for a constructive crit*

I can't see a flaw in this, unless it's the long arms that were mentioned before.

Maybe you could use a name like "Homo Aquilius" or something like that ("aquila" means "eagle" in Latin.)

Have you heard of the Pomola? It's a bird-spirit in Abenaki myth that causes cold weather and is said to live on top of Mt. Katahdin, the highest mountain in Maine. It resents moratls intruding from below, so going near the mountain was banned. As soon as i saw your cool birdman, i thought 'Pomola'. I like how you've put a lot of detail on him to appear so real, just like your other drawings which i L-O-V-E. You've got yourself a fan! Keep up the great work.

They're not Stormcrows-- thy're StormWINGS!!! I just finished reading the second Immortals series from Tamora Pierce and that's what they're called. Karen can look it up for herself if she doesn't believe me. *sticks nose in the air and turns away from Karen* Humph! *turns back around and grins at her* It's not your fault. I'm just one of those people who are obsessed with details. Now, *turns to Maja* I couldn't have done better myself. Great work. Keep at it!

This is a beautiful work. But he's much more charismatic than a stormwing - they're all covered in dried blood and stuff! I love it so much; it's really original and amazingly drawn.

Hey, I've got a girlfriend for this guy! Check out "Avienne" at my gallery. I'm not as good at shading and muscles as you are, plus my image got fuzzed up on the way from the scanner to the woods for some reason and I haven't bothered to correct it but it's the same basic idea. And you've implemented it very nicely, if I may say so.

God jul förresten!

Fantastic job with combining the human ans avian anatomy, even if it doesn't look like he's capeable of flight.
