This is sjörået, a waternymph from Swedish folklore. She is the water equivalent to skogsrået which can be found in the forest. Both these spirits seduce men, more or less...

There are many stories involving sjörået, where she for examle visits lonely fishermen to make love, or ask for favours. If the fishermen showed her consideration, and helped her, she would reward them with good fishing luck, and warn them whenever there was going to be bad weather. If they on the other hand yelled at her or didn't help her, she'd surely teach them a lesson, or get her revenge... One way of knowing it's a sjörå you are dealing with, (apart from the fact that it's a naked woman living in a lake) is that they are not to keen on showing their backs, since they are said to have hollow backs or sometimes tails.

I love the water, and her eyes are quite captivating.

It's really impressive! Colors and blur give to this swedish siren a mystic and quite untemporal look... even poetic, as I see it!
Congratulations! Bravo!
(but... this beauty must be thanksful for the original model, I guess ;op )
Great job!

Sjörået actually lived in the sea, and was identified with a mermaid in later folklore. Lakes are the dominion of näcken. But never mind! It's a very pretty picture!

I love her facial expression. It's kind of mischevious.

For some reason it reminds me of the tale from Ireland about the water kelpies who took off their skin to be beautiful women.

The water looks more like black whispy cloudstuff, or oil, rather than water. Don't know if that's what you intended. But otherwise it's really neat! Her eyes do look a little lopsided, but they're very beautiful and intense. You can almost feel her personality. Great job!
