"The Bee Queen - Rotation" by Annie Rodrigue

I really like this, but not for the reason i like most of your other pics. I like this one because you made her look like a lovely queen without losing any of the bee essence in her and i know that can be tricky but you make it look so, well, actually, difficult. Like it is so out of reach i just have to sit and admire. THat's one thing about your best pics though, they so easily allow you to drop thoughts and just let your eyes have fun

You know, it's not surprising that these are good, after all you've been to school and studied technique and they absolutely should be good. What is so wonderful about your pictures is that they're are so creative. I've seen this concept before, but never done quite so distinctly. You've made a bee look regal instead of cutesy or mean. Have you by chance seen The Triplets of Bellville? This reminded me of that, not in style or anything, but in the fact that it's subtle and in it's subtlety it is more affecting that a bright gold and black cartoon character. The use of muted colors, the focus of the body as opposed to an overdone facial expression, the way that the crown is almost something you notice at second glance. It's all very effective and impressive. This is my favorite piece in your gallery.

Wow. Awesome. My only suggestion would be maybe give her a pet like a flea. Like the queen in Antz. She had a little lap (dog) aphid. That aphid was so awesome!!! So cute!
