SciFi and Fantasy Art AD&D Naga - Color by James Allen Mangas

Well, simply put this is the color version of my Naga picture. I had enough insight after my experience with the winged Dimitri picture to scan and save the black and white and use a good copy to make the color version with so I didn't ruin the original. As usual, all helpful advise is welcome. And no, I do not have access to a coloring program, I have to do all my coloring with pencils, which I don't mind.

21 Feb 2000	Carolyn VanEseltine	Loading... Based on my own experimentation with coloring with my computer, you're better off doing it by hand! Her hands are distinctly too small-- and her complete lack of attention to the flash / fireball by her left hand makes it seem as though she didn't create it. She also seems to be standing quite flat-footed, not at all braced for action (as her sword would suggest that she is.) However, her clothing is excellent, the hands are WONDERFUL save in scale, and there's something about the color of her skin that I particularly like. Keep up the good work!

Actually, you'd be surprised at what a pain in the butt computer painting programs can be, especially if you you don't have a graphics tablet and have to do everything by mouse...which I do. Anyway, colored pencils rock. I prefer Prismacolor myself. And I agree with the comment above, that the skin color of the naga is interesting. I also like the dots on the skin, too.
