Strange portrait of me wearing a headgear for Victorian sky pirates, who attack on the merchant vessels in huge armored zeppelins. (I take that picture in remote control switch in my schools camera system)

I made this odd looking mask in my final Year project in South Carelia Polytechnic. I tried to generate the same mystical feeling that you find in old native masks in primitive cultures, but my own version would also have some classic steampunk/retro-future elements. (It's made of birch, leather and silver etc.)

i know what it takes to carve anything in timber , so to make a wearable piece like this takes bit to get your head around so to speak , so great work Mikko , and the finish should have earned you some high marks i hope . keep it up . some subtle patterns down the bridge of the nose would’ve spiced it up a bit . just a thought.

:-) Mikko S. Anttonen replies: "Yeah.. I have also thinked that and i maybe encrave some decorative patterns to the noseguard and use also more darker color tone to that face part in the future."
