This is a picture featuring the main characters in a long campaign that I recently finished dm'ing. It was done for my friend Matt, who came up with the always entertaining and resourceful wizard Caliculus (featured in the center) and his feline familiar Minerva (in the bottom left). In the top left are the ratlings Panya and her little sister, both envisioned and beautifully role-played by Jess. In the bottom right is the crafty psion-warlock Dante Steel, brought to life by Malcholmn. In the top right are two of the sentient skeletons that accompanied them to help crew their airship, and no, the appropriateness of the term "skeleton crew" was not at all lost on anyone.
This scene is taken from one of the last sessions we had. Caliculus was in the top room of a tower that stood as a link, binding the Material Plane (the Plane that holds all we know to be real) with the Farplane (the Plane of pure malicious Chaos). While the rest of the party (except for Dante who had tragically died earlier) bravely battled an avatar of the God of Chaos himself, Caliculus was forced to decipher the ancient runes of a forgotten language and dismantle the protective energies that kept the bridge open, fighting a mental battle all his own.
