This is a detail of a large picture I've drawn of Armand, or Amadeo, from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. This is dug out from the very depths of my manipulated brain, and I'm sure Mrs. Rice herself will be horrified by it, heh heh. I was trying to capture Armand's femenine and sweet look, but still keep that dangerous look in his eyes.

The eyes are a bit low on his face, but your right, he definatly has a feminantbeauty. You did some super smooth shading here too! Ah I should read Anne Rice's books one of these days,..........but school is ALWAYS getting in the way!

Mmm, very feminine. Mainly because of his eye brows and eyes as well as his defined lips. Mainly because of the brows though.
Even so, he is a big bloke. he makes quite an imposing figure! He doesn't look very frienndly either...

This is pretty cool, although i find his head a little...off balance somehow. and if he's a guy, then that hair does nOT fit him2 its definately woman like. But the detail and all of that is VERY good. I think men draw men best and women draw women best.

:-) Maria Martins replies: "Thank you! You're right, the whole picture was off balanced, and I wish I'd spend more time on it, focusing on the base isntead of focusing on the details >_"

Is it a girl?

:-) Maria Martins replies: "No, a boy 12"

Um...the face is far to feminine for that body. Head is too small. Work on the anatomy more

On a positive note, love the eyes

This is a GORGEOUS representation of Armand! His hair is absolutely lovely, and the eyes are enchanting. Great work!

Ahh!! A really love it! I've read her books myself. It really captured his look! And you're right, he has a dangeriuos glint in his eye, totally a cool image! But i have to ask something of you, could i possibley borrow a image or something from you? I will put it in your name.

Allow me to make some comments about this picture.

First off, Armand's hair should be curly. Since he is from the renaissance, everyone had those enchanting curls and loops in their hair. And Armand's hair seems too dark in this picture, his hair is an auburn colour, so the tone would be lighter. His face is crooked, and his mouth lop-sided. I would suggest next time to make his eyebrows less shapely, and make his eyes larger to give off his youthful appearance.

But my number one pet peeve is that Armand is too big! He is so slim, and here he looks imposing! Try making him into a more petite, compact frame next time, as he was only around 5'6'' if I remember correctly.

Well you said you didn't spend much time doing this, why not do it again? You'll be surprised how much you'll improve on the original.

Very good! Its just that when I read "Lestat" Armand always apeared in my head as petite.

He looks so bored... but he’s good! I like the roses from behind too! 1
