No one knew where he came from but within a week, everyone knew who he was. He carried himself like royalty (only without the rudeness.) Embedded in his sword was the eye of a dragon. That wasn't his boast; that's what everyone already knew. They'd seen that eye before, many times in the middle of the night as flames rained out of the sky. It had been a week since the beast had returned. Now everyone know who killed it.

I like putting people of color in different contexts. I had originally titled this one 'Dark Prince,' but someone else suggested 'Prince Adamant' which I think describes him better. Thanks!

I was just thinking Othello. I so agree with Changling...Its almost exactally how i thought Othello would look. This is really good.

He likes exactly how Othello should look! I'm not the only one who thinks about putting afro-american characters in a psuedo-anglo-saxon fantasy setting! Yay!

Great pic--Love the strong expression and pose. And the costume is really wonderful, especially the detail around the arm of the jacket.

Personally I find that all skin colors in people (and so paintings) are perfect and beautiful, but sometimes being time appropriate can be an issue. In response to a lot of your other comments, does it really matter whether he is black or white?
