Mark has spent most of his life building real fantasy landscapes, as a garden designer. Now builds websites and paints and draws as much as possible.
 
 
 
I'm from the UK, Sussex on the South coast. I've been drawing fantasy pics since my early teens. Except, when i got into my twenties, and real life took hold, I stopped.. you know how it is. Well, now I'm, umm, older, I've started again. Not because I've got more time on my hands, 'cause I haven't. But i think I needed to draw again, and what a revelation it's been. I started off by scanning in some of those old drawings and paintings and running them through photoshop, first just to clean them up, then to embelish, then to use as the base for entirely new pictures, or to finish off ones that never got anywhere. I've found that, although I've had to carry on from where I left off, I'm better at drawing - I guess years of working as a designer have helped - and I think life experience and observation helps too. I run my art site www.placeofdreams.com as a hobby but want wider exposure, so thought I'd try in Elfwood, to see what happens. My aim? Like every artist, i guess I'd like to sell my work enough to justify doing it more...

Hey, welcome to Elfwood!
I have to say I really love your art, especially the fantastic landscapes and scenic pictures. The waterfall, the castle, the picture with the sunset... all of your pieces have a special atmosphere that puts the viewer into the worlds you create.
The colours are nicely vivid and the detailed painting style is great, too.
I'm looking forward to see more of your stuff in the future!
