| 8 Dec 2005 | Jamie M. Arenas | Beautiful work! And a happy hello to a fellow repentant sinner. And a salute to you for studying a difficult language. And...did I mention your incredibly amazing work that is so incredibly amazing that I didn't comment on individual pics because it would take hours and hours to comment on each and every one? ^_^ | |
| 2 Jan 2006 | Ryan 'Saint' Stringer | Hey, man, aren't we all sinners?? I clicked on a random mod's pick and found your C.S. Lewis picture - very nice. Lewis has been a huge influence on my writing actually, and I recently put up a Christmas story (about the Birth of Jesus) that is told from the devil's perspective.. bit of an homage to the Screwtape Letters. Well hey, always nice to find another family members in the woods - your work is great, by the way! Timothy M. Marston replies: "Thanks. Lewis is also one of my large sources of inspiration... I haven't illustrated anything for screwtape letters but that book had a big impact on me" | |
| 17 May 2006 | Anne Wipf | Great gallery, so various and imaginative. I love the way you use watercolors. It was a real pleasure to visit it. Of course, I already put your name into my favourite Elfwood's artists list. Timothy M. Marston replies: "Thanks, I enjoyed looking at your watercolors as well!" | |
| 20 May 2006 | Lostelf | Lewis and Macdonald.... some of the best stuff of all time. Awesome to see art originating from those sources. Timothy M. Marston replies: "Yeah, a lot of people have read Lewis, but not a lot have read MacDonald, which is crazy because MacDonald is where Lewis got his inspiration from. Thanks for the comment" | |
| 30 Aug 2006 | Anonymous | Your artwork is amazing. i really love it. keep on doing this, it would be a sin if you didn't. Timothy M. Marston replies: "Thanks, I'm glad you like it " | |

| 23 Mar 2007 | David Michael | About the bet between C.S. Lewis and Tolkien that was mentioned above, they had a bet/challenge that was supposed to stretch both of their writing styles. Lewis was supposed to write a sci-fi story (which he did in a trilogy, beginning with "Out of the Silent Planet") and Tolkien was supposed to write a "time-travel" story. Tolkien's attempt was the long & magical but incomplete poem "The Cottage of the Lost Play" which you can read in the Book of Lost Tales 1. Lewis technically won because he actually finished his story. These are lesser-known works of theirs, but are no means inferior to what they're both famous for.
And I know what you mean about the family of Christ transcending cultures! I've met Christians who were Vietnamese, Japanese, Cambodians, from the Congo, Belarussians, Brits, New Zealanders, etc. - and no matter where they're from or what language they speak, the Holy Spirit really DOES create a special and immediate bond! Keep the faith! | |
