I love the faded effect- and the background that isn't really content to be the background. *nods, hmmm* yes. very good. Like stepping on the universe.

Is very pretty, but then they're supposed to be, aren't they? What bit is it that kelpies won't eat, liver or stomach? I get confused...

:-) Mary Catherine Gutfleisch replies: "I do belive it is the liver they won't eat.And can ya blame them?thanks for the comment!"

I like this picture very much. Im writing a paper for English about superstitions and I decided to throw in some myths since my paper is Irish/Celtic themed. That reminds me, is the kelpie in some way related to the pooka? They seem to act very similar.

Actually, Kelpies aren't Each Uisage or Phookas... It is the Each Uisage in Ireland that won't eat the liver. They are mainly seen in the sea, or rushing up to the shore in the tides. Phookas have been closely connected to Kelpies because they are shapeshifters as well, and can form as a horse.. but also seen as a rabbit, goat, etc. While kelpies are usually just have their horse forms (and their inbetween man and horse). Kelpies are 'freshies' seen or heard in lakes, rivers, ponds etc.. and they come from scottish folklore, and have actually been recently sighted there in the 1940's I believe, but other than that I believe the sightings have died down. Perhaps their need for a country-ish disguise isn't working anymore...
