| 1 Jun 2002 | Sue traub | Hi-i had sent you an response but i dont see it so perhaps it didnt go thru-so-here goes again--im so impressed by your creativity and i dont understand annonymous hostile and childish comments-so-dont pay thewm no m ind. I think i have to revisit hobbit and dunes to understand your art better but i like the black and white--would shading enchance concept? Not being and artist or even able to draw im not sure--i just like charcoal sketches so---. By the way- good book i think youd like--kavalier and clay by michael charbon. Keep truckin...... Matthew Aaron William Karrin replies: "Well I don't know if rereading The Hobbit and Dune will allow you to "understand" my art more (though I don't want that to stop you from doing so =)) but you also have realize that I'm very heavily inspired by marvel comics and anime as well. So it all gets kind of blended. As for your thoughts on the shading... don't put down your own opinion just because you aren't an fine arts artist because you don't need to draw or paint to be able to tell what works and what doesn't (and you need an eye for theater as well). That's where the use of the expression "i may not know art but I know what I like" can be used. Anyone can look at something and tell that it feels odd, or is misproportioned, or lopsided. The talent that distinguishes and "artist" is being able to visualize or view something and then translate that image onto paper, canvas, or whatever other medium they may use. Anyway, enough of my babbling. Thanks for stopping by cuz." | |
| 8 Jul 2002 | Celine bellon | First of all I have to say you have a long middle name. (unlike me who has no middle name) i think you have a very good imagination and you artwork is not bad. And I too think that shading would make your drawings more enhanced. Keep drawing! | |
| 8 Jul 2002 | Adrian Wonoto | Some suggestions for you: 1. don't listen to Anonymous; 2. whenever possible, use plain paper; 3. just keep on drawing. Everybody who starts drawing is sure to make some deformations. That's natural. You have to keep learning from mistakes and improve yourself. I have a personal request, it's up to you to accept: Could you make one more landscape picture like "long and winding road?" I'd like to see a new one in the future. Please inform me when you have that update. Thanks! | |

No seriuosly, there is a deep feeling within this statement even if you cant tell. Its really good. I respect your artwork and i think you shoudl take some art classes so you can do it and be graded for it because youd get an A double plus superb. Right? RIGHT!! Yahoo | |
